I had to go back to the restaurant the same evening to follow up, and only then was the refund processed. For a restaurant of this size, these kinds of tactics to avoid refunding a few dollars for an error that was clearly not the customer’s fault are disappointing.
Additionally, they refused to provide an extra cup for tea, stating they strictly count plastic cups. This level of penny-pinching, especially in Dallas on a busy street with many Indian restaurant options nearby, leaves a bad impression.
Overall, poor customer service and lack of accountability. I won’t be returning.

Will never go to this place again.
I visited Desi District in Little Elm today and had an excellent experience. I tried their weekend specials — Pachi Mirchi Kodi Vepudu, Chicken Joint Biryani, and Pepper Chana — and the taste was absolutely amazing!
The flavors were authentic and delicious, and each dish stood out in its own way. I was surprised to hear that these items are only available on weekends — they’re so good, they definitely deserve a spot on the daily menu!
The service was also top-notch. The staff were genuinely polite and attentive, which made the experience even better.
Highly recommend Dishes by on the weekend to try these specials — you won’t be disappointed!
The space is bright, spacious, and comfortable, and the staff were kind and attentive. While there did seem to be plenty of team members on duty, the flow of service felt a little uncoordinated, and the dining area could use a bit more attention to detail when it comes to cleanliness and upkeep.
That said, the quality of the food alone makes this place worth a return visit. With just a little more fine-tuning to the front-of-house experience, Desi District has all the makings of a local favorite.

In service the staff truly excelled. They were always available to answer any questions and assist with any requests. Sairam and Rupesh in particular stood out for their exceptional service. They were friendly knowledgeable and went above and beyond to ensure that my needs were met.
One of the main issues we encountered was with our order of bone-in fish. We specifically requested bone-in fish but unfortunately we were served boneless fish instead. This was quite disappointing as we had been looking forward to enjoying the authentic desi experience with bone-in fish. The miscommunication regarding our order was a letdown.
In addition the mutton pieces we ordered were disappointingly tough. We had expected tender and flavorful mutton but unfortunately the meat was quite hard to chew. This decreased our enjoyment of the dish and left us craving for more tender mutton pieces.
On the positive side we did enjoy the mandi. The flavors were well-balanced and the dish was cooked to perfection. The rice was fragrant and the meat was tender which made for a satisfying meal. This was definitely the highlight of our dining experience at Desi District.
Despite the disappointment with the bone-in fish and tough mutton pieces we appreciated the effort put into the mandi. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant. However we believe that improvements could be made in terms of fulfilling specific orders and ensuring the quality of the meat.
In conclusion we rate our visit to Desi District in Little Elm as a three-star experience. While the mandi stood out the issues with the bone-in fish and tough mutton pieces dampened our overall satisfaction. We hope that the restaurant takes our feedback into account and works towards improving these aspects in order to provide a more consistent and enjoyable dining experience for its customers.
The burger was pathetic. They had just assembled the ingredients on top of one another. It just slid off when the staff gave it to us even (picture attached). 2 huge pieces of paneer with some sauce on top. It was so raw to have those paneer pieces. The taco was ok. We felt we wasted our money.
