The food was delicious. Upon arriving we were greeted by Andrew, who was independently running the restaurant. Expert mixologist. Great host, server, he made sure we had an amazing evening. Highly recommend. Would give Andrew ten stars if I could!!!

The Desert Rose is a beautiful big open space where fire pits and red umbrellas are open to welcome you. A very beautiful red stained glass rose greets you in the open courtyard and it illuminates at night. The Beef Shawarma is not to be missed & the dolmas are so authentically made. Andrew was a fun and kind server and verified The Happy Hour starts at 4pm and goes until 6pm daily. This is a great spot for larger parties and wine-o-clocks. If you’re looking for a beautiful spot with excellent middle-eastern cuisine made from the spices of faraway lands look no further than Desert Rose.

The food was delicious, but the shrimp pasta only came with about 5 shrimp. Bummer! The Humus was great and tasted very fresh. The service was superb; our waitress was friendly and patient with our requests. This was a great dinner experience.

We went to this place for Christmas day lunch on our LA trip by accident. The food, customer service, and ambiance were great. We got the penne pasta, jidori chicken, shwarma sandwich, and pita crusted salmon and got lava cake and chocolate ganache cheesecake. The owner checked if we were doing ok since the jidori chicken takes time to cook. We loved the attention, especially on Christmas day.

Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food and great service. Indoor and plenty of outdoor seating.
They have hookahs with many yummy flavors to choose from.
The tables with a little fire pit inside are in the smoking areas, however the hookah smell is not very intense.
The atmosphere is bomb the lighting is gorgeous, music is super chill (mix of Mediterranean and American) you have a lemon tree, white and red roses were in full bloom and the owner & staff were super friendly.

There’s plenty of street parking available, Desert Rose in Los Feliz is the is great. Very spacious patio that’s perfect for birthdays, holiday parties, or just hanging out a large group. They serve brunch as well as dinner. I went for dinner and sit on the patio. They do have plenty of heat lamps plus the firepits

Let’s talk food—everything was a vibe! The halloumi with Sojuk? Chef’s kiss. I even tried fried smelt for the first time, and it did not disappoint. The mushroom pizza was savory perfection, and the Khesh Khash was so good!

And for dessert? The Ashta with honey and pistachios was the sweetest way to end the night. They even have hookah if you’re in the mood to chill.

Highly recommend this hidden gem in Los Feliz

I sat on the patio on a Friday night — a great way to enjoy a late LA spring as the sun went down.

I got the beef shawarma sandwich after a bit of deliberation. The beef had a smoky char but alone was a little bit dry, so the tahini sauce really helped bring it back to life. It did feel a little bit greasy, though. I thought the ratio between the wrap and the contents was spot on; no notes. The salad was a pretty standard Greek salad and I think if it had feta it would’ve really elevated it.

Service is quite slow (it sounded like the kitchen and waitstaff were both extremely overwhelmed) so budget a bit of time for your trek out here. My server Eddy was SO sweet, though! He checked in on me multiple times and made sure that I had everything I needed.

The wine they have is inconsistent from the menu. I was served a $5 bottle. I ordered a chicken and beef kabob plate. Both were burnt. Ordered a hookah and had to remind the staff a few times only to be given a dirty one, one hour later. The owner came out and told me this was the best flavor he ever smoked. When the hookah arrived we were given the bill to leave because they were closing.

I live around the area and I always see this place when passing by. So I finally took my wife here for a nice Friday night date. The ambiance is nice and the food was great. We started off with drinks and appetizers – shrimp, calamari. We both shared the Lamb and it was enough for 2 people with the size of that thing.

Dan our server was wonderful. he was very nice and attentive to our requests. drinks and dinner for 2 we spent about $184 which included the 20% tip.

We frequent Dama, Bestia and Bar Siesta for date nights. It’s safe to say we found another restaurant to choose from for Friday date nights
