We ordered a 16inch smokehouse brisket pizza on thin crust. The crust was underbaked and tasted like greasy dough. There was very few pieces of brisket on the pizza. The flavor profile of the pizza would have been very good if the execution of the details was better. We also got the garlic Parmesan wings and ordered ranch but got bleu cheese. We did takeout so we didn’t notice until we got home.
We should have taken a photo right away to show how many pieces of the pizza had only one small piece (or none) of brisket but we didn’t think of it in time.

Ordered a Smokestack Burger for pick up and it was SO GOOD. Asked for medium, came out perfect. Real, hand pattied burger was juicy and we were both just so delighted. Fries were tasty and the service was so friendly. Great visit, will gladly return. On the spendy side but when you’re spending slightly less money on frozen patties elsewhere, it is just so worth the price for this pride and passion for a dang good burger.

They recently hosted my daughters. She’s off the market bridal shower. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was fantastic. They went above and beyond what we’ve asked them to do and they were very easy to work with highly recommend this establishment for any party that you have coming up.

My daughter and I sat on the patio over looking the lake. Such an amazing view i nearly forgot I was in the middle of the city. Beautiful flowers! Other patrons were upbeat and chatty, but not “noisy”.
The sweet potato waffle fries were delicious, and dipping them in the house ranch was amazing! (Forgot to take a photo.)
We ordered a 2topping pizza for just $10! Pepperoni and sausage. It was so much better than fast food pizza!! Brought home half. $25 including tip for two people with this view is a steal.
Isabelle served our table. She was polite, attentive and clean checking back every 5-10 mins to make sure we didn’t need anything.

Had a great valentines dinner once we got it. After two tables that arrived after us got their food((it had been an hour already, but it was valentine’s) said they lost our ticket As a retired cook, I know prime rib is pre cooked, and you only have to boil lobster legs and still waited another twenty minutes. Excellent food but a mere apology was all that was offered for our time and their mistake so I doubt I’ll be back

The history of this establishment is worth going to all by itself. It is a real train depot being closed in 1971. It was purchased in 1984 and was turned into what it is today, a Smokehouse Tavern. Opening its doors in 1985 to the public. It’s sad to see the bad reviews in here. My significant other experienced the same Brisket issues, dry and tasteless. I had a really good burger called the Smokehouse. I put some money into the train and made it go around the bar and dining room. Enjoy…

Excellent food and service. We were in the mood for baskets. We got the chicken strip basket and the fish basket. Both came with a delicious pineapple coleslaw and toast. I chose kettle chips and he chose fries as sides. If you stop by the famous Big Ole Vikings Statue, the restaurant is right there. You can sit inside or outside facing Lake Agnes.

We made reservations and the table was not set up with enough waters and no silverware was set out. The waitress was really bad no onions on my burger no bbq side for fries. 18% gratuity was added to bill for 8 or more people. She deserved at the most 12% and that is being generous . It was really loud and hard to hear they need to add something to walls to add to help with background noise. will not return. Food was good not spectacular did not care for their fries.

We went to the Depot a week ago to host a team building event / social hour for our employees and from beginning to end the Depot impressed us! Our server Rachel was a rock star. The kitchen staff was taking care of a multitude of people and the house was packed from top to bottom, end to end. Service was top notch and the food came to our table, hot and timely! And Rachel waited in each and every person like they were the only ones in the room and with a smile that was genuine! And there were literally at least a hundred or more!
So my family and I just HAD to go back and try it for dinner! Tonight we were able to be seated on the patio because finally the weather cooperated. Our server Emma was the sweetest and so attentive. (As were the others as I watched them attend to their customers). Once again, packed house. Everyone had smiles on their faces and our food – well let’s just say not only do they shock you in presentation, but quality! Definitely not all deep fried, pre-cooked, warmed over bar food. Fresh, generous, flavorful and obviously made to order amazing meals. (Sorry I didn’t get pictures of everything).
We LOVE and believe in supporting our local businesses. They are what makes our communities thrive. Depot Staff……keep up the good work and THANK YOU SO MUCH for making both of my experiences – professionally AND personally – such a remarkable experience!
