This Texan dreams about bagels from this shop 24/7. Wish I lived closer, but grateful I got to experience their greatness. The service is super quick and friendly. The dining room was clean and offered many condiments and coffee dressings. They gave a wide range of bagels to choose from, and I love how everything is customizable.

Absolutely love the bagels here, and I’d say it’s the best bagels I’ve ever had. Texture is always perfectly chewy, and they have a wide range of flavours that somehow all taste amazing. Always end up getting at least a half dozen bagels here because I can’t choose just one flavour.
They also sell small containers of cream cheese that are perfect with the bagels.
I always try to stop by here whenever I am on the island.

I was turned onto this place by a Kent Island local, what a find! Fresh made bagels and spreads daily, great coffee, an amazing diverse menu… And a friendly professional staff!

Very disappointing,
I ordered an everything bagel toasted w/ cream cheese and lox, the bagel was cold and dense, they only put cream cheese on half my bagel. The bottom half of the bagel was totally flat with no everything seasoning on it and no cream cheese. Might as well order an open faced bagel if they’re not going to put anything on the bottom half. Which I ended up turning mine into. For my coffee a got an iced Carmel latte very sugary and had no coffee flavor. Wish the food was better since it has a nice inside seating area and nice staff.

The bagels are OK but definitely not New York style. The convenience of bagels on the island is nice. The service sucks. They need to better train their employees and be meticulous in their execution.
About half the time we have gone there they have screwed up our order. Once we ordered and paid for, in person, two dozen bagels a day ahead of pickup including a dozen of the pretzel bagels. When we got there at the appointed time they did not have our order together and were sold out of most of the pretzel bagels we ordered. So much for ordering ahead. Yesterday we purchased a dozen, got home… 11. Another call, another needless 15 mile round trip to pick up one stinking bagel.
This place strikes us as a good idea but executed in the most half-hearted and sloppy, careless manner possible.
No more DePaola’s. We will go back to our former haunts now – Naval Bagels and Bagels And…. in over 30 years of going to both we never had a screwed up order at either. And their bagels are better.

Bagel was light and chewy but way too lite on the seasoning. An old bay bagel should taste like old bay, mine tasted like a plain bagel. If you fix the issue please put the seasoning in the bottom too! Thanks so much!

After dieting for the past 4 months and losing 50 pounds I can safely say that this place has been an amazing establishment to where I have my cheat meal, which isn’t even bad at all! I have a little bagel Saturday tradition that myself and my father in law have picked up on and it is amazing. Trying a different bagel here and there but for my favorite consistency grab you a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. You can’t go wrong! Everyone is so helpful as well. Has a great home like feel to the place and makes you want to have a chat with one of your buds in there!

Gave DePaola’s a try today and I was not disappointed. Had a light lunch with a Turkey Club Bagel and my wife had the Schrimp Salad Bagel and added avocado. Both were very delicious and filling with a bag a chips and a Coke, great lunch! The staff are phenomenal and very interactive with the customers which makes the experience very enjoyable. This is an awesome place to grab a breakfast Bagel in the morning on the way to work with egg, cheese, and bacon and you can chase it down with a Rise Up coffee. Over all, I had a really nice dining experience here today and recommend giving them a try….lots of repeat customers in there today….

Great breakfast/brunch on a Sunday with friends and family. The servers are friendly and know the menu well. They have a large selection of bagels and sandwiches and a large seating area. Staff members come by regularly to check how your meal is which I think is really great. I like the art work too.
If you like a Nordic style breakfast, get the salmon on your bagel. The traditional meat egg and cheese is great too.

I enjoyed this place. Employees were friendly, and other customers seemed to be good folk. Menu is easy to read and interpret. Food was good for the first try. I’d make a single change in my bagel order, and that is to get it toasted a good bit more to a medium/ medium high. I’m definitely coming back next time I cross the bay bridge.
They use actual jalapeños! Love it! Pictures are Asiago bagel with cream cheese / jalapeño bagel with jalapen and cheddar cream cheese.
