My mac ‘n’ cheese burger could have done with more mac ‘n’ cheese, but other than that it was good.
Service started off very well, with a warm welcome. However, once we were seated, we were pretty much forgotten about and had to constantly flag down the staff for refills.
Not the best place I’ve ever been and not the worst either.
We ordered through the app, naively hoping this might save time. It didn’t. Twenty minutes just to be seated, followed by a further forty before anything resembling food appeared. Remember, they we not anywhere near at capacity. First came the pancakes – stale, dry, and utterly joyless. Ten minutes later, the burgers turned up, accompanied by a three-quarters-full soda that looked like it had been topped up with disappointment. The cheeseburger? A tragedy in a bun. The only redeeming feature was the freshness of the lettuce, which at least reassured us that someone in the building had seen a vegetable in the last week. The fries/ chips were decent.
The whole ordeal was a pointless waste of money, time, and calories. Denny’s Swansea is the dining equivalent of an endurance test: you go in full of hope and leave with nothing but regret. Do yourself a favour and steer clear – you’ll thank me later.
Menu choice and quality are exactly as you would expect in relation to fast food, although a slight anglicised twist for the UK pallet.
Service was fantastic.
There is plenty of free parking for 2 hours, but registering your vehicle in the restaurant extends the parking to 4 hours free.
Great taste of America without the flight!
Food was really nice and decent potion sizes.
Staff were very friendly.
The restaurant was lacking atmosphere with the booths being quite high, so that’s all you could see.
It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re a fan of Dennys.
The food was very standard dinner type but my daughter (10) said the chips were the best ever. Very generous portions.
The coffee was really good and although we had burgers and chips it didn’t seem too greecey.
I bet the breakfasts are amazing. If we are every passing through again we will go back and try breakfast.
Food was delicious, but over 40 minutes wait after ordering. Ordered a bottled still water and you get a bottle with no glass! I will go again, but is it too much to get a waiter these days? No saucer with my cappuccino, the guy who brought the food was nice though.
Main reason I didn’t give 5 stars was actually the fries, one thing I didn’t expect to be writing about. They weren’t all that crispy, slightly undercooked and a weird shape. Certainly don’t recall them ever being served in the US so no idea what that’s about.
In summary this is a novelty in the UK and it’s a shame this seems to be the only one. The food’s decent and the service good. Quite a bit of work to do to get the food up to the same standard as the actual US Denny’s but it was nice not needing to tip at the end.
