I visited the Denny’s in Gurnee and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The atmosphere did not feel welcoming, and the server never smiled or showed much engagement throughout the visit. The Grand Slam Burrito was average at best. While the tabletop looked clean, there was visible trash and debris under multiple tables, giving the impression that the dining area had not been properly cleaned, even though the restaurant was not busy. Staff spent a noticeable amount of time laughing and chatting amongst themselves, and it seemed like cleaning only became a priority after I began taking photos of the floor. In addition, the advertised $5 value menu was misleading; although it appeared to offer several options, only one item was actually available at $5 and it did not include any meat. Based on this experience, I do not plan to return.

Philomena is the absolute best server we’ve encountered at Dennys in Gurnee. She’s on top of her game, consistently checks on us., & always makes sure our drinks are full. Philonena is the reason I specifically come to Gurnee, if she’s not working I will go to a different location.

I’m Hispanic but do not look it. If you are not Hispanic and don’t look it, your service is disgraceful. You stand at the counter waiting to be advised whether to sit and wait for your table or to follow them. All the while they are speaking Spanish in front of you like you don’t exist.
When you order food you wait 45 minutes. Hopefully you need extra calcium because your scrambled eggs will have shells in them and your hashbrowns will be cooked in grease. Also hope you had your vaccines as the silverware was dirty every single set. Good luck on getting anything you ask for as they don’t return.

A great place to eat for any family. Just had the steak dinner and it was done medium rare just as I requested. Aiden was our server and was 5 star all the way…as usual! The area manager just stopped over to say hey and spent a few minutes conversing and is was most pleasant! Great people with very good food! Definitely do recommend it!!

We come here often. This was one of the better experiences. Philomena was sweet, helpful and a great server. Atmosphere was pleasant. Food was good but the hash browns were a bit dark. Also a bit disappointed with the birthday meal. Previous years you received a grand slam for free with purchase of another meal. This year it was a value slam which is a stipped down version of the grand. Might fill a child.

We don’t go here on a regularly but when we visit this location, Philamena is our waitress when she’s there, she is a delight to talk to need more of her in an environment that loves what they do to give their customer satisfy service and that she does. Kudos to Philamena!
