Pretty good experience overall, My wife and I were visiting from DC and did not want to break the bank eating out. After a morning of shopping, Denny’s was a perfect stop. Pretty good food for a pretty good price. Service was great also.

I’m done giving chances with this location, in Oakland, been a long time customer (since before they built the new location, 20 years +) and the last three times in a row was not fitting.
The nacho appetizer (a personal favorite) either barely has toppings or, like this last time was scorched and covered in some kind of bad tasting oil. The fryer oil must rarely get changed. Their signature burgers are a soggy greasy mess and can only be eaten buy removal of the soggy grease laden bun. Three different times we have even experienced raw or under cooked burgers and chicken. You wait 30 to 45 mins for food after you ordered, which means they bring all your food at once. ( it’s like why order an appetizer). Condiment bottles are always empty. And forget about napkins you only (if luckey) get one per person.
With a heavy heart my family and myself have decided to take a long leave from that location and spend our money were it buys better value and experience.

Had lunch here with my parents. There were only a few other tables seated during the time we were eating. A lot of the fries that came with my burger were almost burnt, the same with my Dad’s side of red potatoes. My Dad requested jalapeno and salsa with his omelette, but we had to remind the waitress twice before they were brought out. My mom said her bacon tasted bland. The worst offender of our visit was the drink cups. The cups were so nasty we all thought they were frosted glasses until I scratched at the inside with my fingernail and found out it was some sort of film left from not being washed properly. My dad requested a new glass with his refill and let the waitress know any the cups. She brought out a to-go cup for his refill, which means she couldn’t find a clean cup in the kitchen. The state of the cups has us wondering about the cleanliness of the rest of the restaurant.

Table of 3. Two of us got the French toast slam. I asked for extra bacon( did not get). The French toast was just butter bread fried. My husband got steak and eggs the steak was not cooked! He said his eggs tasted like wet dog. The cashier that check us out she just gave us a nasty look. We will never return. Do NOT recommend.

The $20.00 meal did not look like the picture in the menu. All edges were burnt. The three bites I took, tasted burnt. The manager hovered over me and gaslighted me for 8-10 minutes. The manager told me she had seen that food burnt worse than what I was served. She continued to gaslight me. The only quiet comment I would state, “But it tastes burnt. I can not eat it. It tastes burnt.” Meanwhile, the manager knew as long as she gaslighted me. I’d be forced to pay $20.00+ for my meal. I still would have paid for the burnt nasty food that did not resemble that food in the picture in the menu. I would have never ordered that food from the menu if I had known it would have been burnt. I did not need to be gaslighted. This is an example of narcissistic leadership who should never work directly with the public. Who am I? I am a mystery shopper. I do undercover surveys and reports for various companies. Gaslighting me was wrong in every way. This narcissistic manager only cared about having % meals paid for and ZERO reports made for bad food and bad service. She needs to work in an enclosed office where she never interacts with the public. She will laugh at this statement. Gaslighting and laughing at one’s faults is common behavior for a person with NPD.

My wife’s salad had more nasty brown stuff in it than green stuff for $10.99 I expect more, she ordered extra HB eggs $1.99, and there was a total of 6 quarters. The berry French toast at $14.79 didn’t have any berries on it because they were out of berries, so I assumed there would be a discount, but there wasn’t, so I asked about it and was told by the manager that since we was told they didn’t have berries l wasn’t entitled to a discount, after complaining more about it she took $2 off (but told me that’s not standard practice)……the bathroom had huge cobwebs in it just overly grungy……very unhappy about the entire experience!!!!

We had 7 adults, 2 kids and 1 toddler. We were seated at at a table with not enough chairs so we had to add tables and chairs ourself. No problem there. We then sat there for an hour and never once did somebody even acknowledge our table. I couldn’t even tell you who our waitress was supposed to be. They were busy I will give them that but it does not give an excuse.Not one word said to our group, no explanation, no apologies about lack of service when a mother with a toddler gets up and leaves hungry and frustrated. I know people have bad nights but they still require accountability. I will not be back.
