The only thing we needed was salt. But we are all big salt people so don’t hold it against them!! From the service to the atmosphere and the most important, cocktails and food… I don’t think we could have changed anything. We all got an appetizer and entree and just shared every plate. It was the best Italian we’ve had in 9 years. The pizzas are not basic in any way either. What a treat!
The place is beautiful and the personnel has an authentic interest on having you well attended.
The food is perfect, precisely seasoned, good size of portion, perfect temperature and a nice timing between dishes.
They also have a good selection of drinks including some nice wines that will accompany you into this great experience.
Our server, Jay, went above and beyond to make sure everything was phenomenal — attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate about the guest experience. For dessert, the fresh tiramisu and Italian donuts were the perfect ending to an amazing meal.
Every visit here is consistently excellent, but tonight truly stood out. Highly recommend DeMarco’s for anyone who loves authentic Italian food, great service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Five stars all the way.
Also please try the tiramisu martini. Best desert bar drink I’ve had.
Could not recommend more and I cannot wait to go back
even though sausage is served on their pizza and in a wood-fired signature dish. When we asked about a pasta with meat (other than seafood, since my partner has a seafood allergy), the server recommended the chicken Genovese (a chicken cutlet with pesto, green beans, tomato, and parmigiano)… Service was okay to say the least.
That said, I did find a couple of favorites: the hanger steak was perfectly cooked, lightly seasoned, and great quality, while the stuffed long peppers with sausage were spicy and flavorful (a perfect combo for a spice lover like me, though maybe too spicy for others).
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend De Marcos if you’re looking for true Italian food. As a Greenville native, I can say we have much better authentic Italian options in town.

Prior review of 4 stars—I accidentally made my reservation for the wrong evening. So when we arrived, the hosts weren’t able to find my name. That’s fine but they kept asking me if my name was a variety of other people with reservations at different times. They also said there was only one reservation at 630. So I think it would have made more sense to just seat us instead of awkwardly asking if I’d made my reservation under random names.
The spot was modern and I liked being able to see the wood fire ovens. The restaurant has 2 levels but it’s very open inside.
The menu looked great so it was hard to decide. I finally picked the scallops. My mom ordered the spicy vodka pasta but asked for it to be very mild. When her meal arrived, it was definitely not mild. I like spicy foods and tasted it and found it to have quite a kick. Our server had them remake it and the second version was perfect and delicious. My scallops were cooked perfectly. We were too full for dessert since we’d shared some focaccia bread before the meal but maybe next time!
