The fried chicken is definitely the star of the show at this place. We had the brunch buffet. It’s worth every penny. The chicken and waffles were outstanding, the corn fritters are truly amazing, the salad bar was very fresh and hot honey is the best I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend buying a bottle of their hot honey it’s very delicious. The service was fantastic and very friendly. The place was a little crowded but it was a Sunday afternoon. The buffet was very clean and very well stocked. This place is truly amazing experience and definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

Dell Rhea’s was a pretty cool place to stop for lunch. A piece of Route 66 history, the place just oozes old school charm. It seems pretty popular, but I was able to sit right down. The staff was friendly, and I was served quickly. I got the fried chicken platter since I figured that’s what they’re known for. The biscuits that came with the meal were unique, and I haven’t seen biscuits that look like that before; they’re good though. The chicken was delicious with a crispy exterior and moist meat on the inside. The platter comes with a lot of chicken though, so I ended up with leftovers. Overall, I thought it was a good value and tasted great. This is definitely worth a stop.

What an amazing and warm atmosphere! Dining is exquisite with a stone fireplace gently crackling, but the bar. OMG, the bar is tops! Game playing on every screen from every POV, access to the delectable and diverse menu, Bourbon Chicken a favorite. Please feel free to stop in and have a little bit of everything you love. You’ll love it, I promise.

If you’re cruising along Old Route 66, do yourself a favor and stop at this gem of a restaurant. The fried chicken is hands-down the best I’ve ever tasted—crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The homemade corn fritters are golden and delicious, and the mac and cheese? Absolutely unforgettable—rich, creamy, and clearly made from scratch with love.

Our server, Joanna, was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and made our dining experience even better. As we drove away, we couldn’t stop saying, “Wow… that was amazing!” This spot is more than just a meal—it’s a must-visit destination. We’ll definitely be back, and I can’t recommend it enough!

I stopped by Dell Rhea’s Chicken Basket after seeing it from the road. It’s right off Route 66, but kinda hard to miss, this place feels like one of those spots you stumble on by luck. The place has that classic diner look, a little loud, smells amazing, and everyone seems happy to be there. Including the staff, they were super friendly.

I got the fried chicken basket. Half a chicken, four pieces. Looked perfect when it came out.. golden, crispy, hot enough to burn your fingers a little (in a good way). First bite, the crunch hit, then that juicy inside…oh man, that’s real fried chicken. Seasoned just right, not salty, not bland, that simple, old-fashioned flavor you can’t fake.

It’s just place that you will find really good chicken. And I’m definitely be coming back for more.

Stopped here for lunch while in the area. Ordered the fried chicken dinner. The fried coating was interesting, but the chicken was moist as if it was roasted instead of fried.

11/10 update. This place needs a visit from the health department. It took a week to recover from this meal.

I had the all you can eat buffet. Decent variety including a salad bar, 2 kinds of soups, scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, bacon, sausages, fried chicken, chicken strips, caramelized sweet potatoes, egg rolls and a few more items I can’t recall. The fried chicken was cooked just right and not overcooked.

Very personable staff.

You can read about the history of how they got started.

Highly recommended.

Very crowded, which means the food is good. And it was. They took my whole family in, all ten of us. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly. I highly recommend eating here.

Had the famous chicken. Reminded me of shake and bake that had been fried very greasy. Soup was chicken dumplings when I went to fill my cup it was broth other people I guess got the good stuff out of the pot. Salad bar was well stocked with fresh high quality ingredients. Unlimited refills on pop and service was good and prompt.
