Reviews
If they opened a Buck & Rider in ATL, we’d be there a couple times a month. A local on our sunset horseback ride recommended it as one of his favorite date-night spots, and wow — he wasn’t kidding. This was hands down the best food, best value, best quality, and best service of our entire trip.
Vibe: Energetic, bustling, clearly a hot spot but still great for date night, business dinners, family meals… or, according to staff, a “meet-up,” too 😉
Reservations: The place was slammed on a Sunday at 6:30, but we got lucky as a party of two and grabbed seats at the sushi bar
Service: Fantastic. Our waitress and the sushi chef were both so warm, helpful, and fun to chat with
Happy Hour: Daily 3–7pm and surprisingly legit
Food Highlights:
• Oysters: Loved the unique Thai chili accompaniment.
• Baja shrimp ceviche: Generous portion and great balance of shrimp, veggies, citrus, and acidity. Tortillas were a bit thick and salty for my liking
• Crispy Brussels sprouts: Huge bowl, super flavorful. They served the goat cheese on the side because of my allergy.
• Butternut squash side with the bacon bits took me by surprise. I finished the entire thing by myself
• Hamachi crudo: Melt-in-your-mouth perfection — even better than the version I loved at The Ends.
• Ribeye: Cooked exactly right.
Only Miss:
• Tataki Salad: Tuna was over-seared, heavily peppered, and seemed like it had been sitting. We basically had to dunk it in the leftover crudo broth to make it work (the broth is so good we were dipping Brussels in it too). *restaurant kindly took this off our bill!
Drinks: Playa de Piñas all night. no notes, just delicious.
Absolutely fantastic meal. Buck & Rider, please expand east — Atlanta needs you!
Our only gripe with this restaurant is our consistent poor experience with the hostess customer service. It is interesting it has happened enough to give feedback! We don’t want the restaurant to lose $$.
