I visited last night with my daughter and some friends, and we were all very pleased at the service and food! From main menu items to the desserts, everything was amazing and we’ll definitely be back. Visiting with the owners, they were able to take over the old Mix It Up location, and are slowly converting everything like signage and murals over for themselves, it will just take them time for this wonderful family. I had the “Big Poppa” sandwich and tried both the Italian and Marinara for dipping, which I preferred the Marinara myself. My daughter had a root beer float and friends tried both the Big Poppa and Spicy Quesadilla which they gave glowing reviews as well. It’s a small quaint shop perfect for that pop in breakfast menu, easy lunch or light dinner, and wonderful desserts! We will definitely be back and try more of their offerings, I hope you give them a try as well!

I wanted to like it so bad, it just wasn’t very great. Delightful is an entirely new business who took over Mix It Up but instead of just starting from scratch they tried to keep part of the old menu, the neon building sign, the signature mural and took over the same Google business profile to keep positive (but now misleading) reviews. The family seemed “delightful” and I’d love to see them do well. It was a little awkward hearing them bicker in the kitchen but I think they are in the midst of a stressful transition and have a young family. It can be a lot to take on a business like that and with operation costs for a menu with so many items things can be overwhelming and expensive to start. The amount of environmental unfriendly styrofoam being used made me sad. Some deli ingredients that were on the kitchen shelves were cheap like great value brand breads. I think that they must have something they are really really passionate and good at and we just didn’t know to order it because we were misled into thinking it was an ice cream shop but then were told it’s a dessert shop slash deli now once we were inside. The dessert part was not good. It was like grocery store ice cream on grocery store cones, very high school football game concession stand quality. I would love to see Delightful be delightful… like simplify the menu to a handful of things done reeeeally well with like in house baked bread or something unique and maybe use reusable baskets with paper liners or something less wasteful. The total for what we got was a little wild. Looking forward to seeing what this looks like 6m from now when they find their niche.

Stopped in for a breakfast sandwich while running errands Saturday morning. The service was awesome and the sandwich was even better! It was filling and reminded me of the sandwiches my mom would make me before heading to school. I also grabbed a piece of birthday cake for the road, which was delicious too! Can’t wait to try more of their menu. 🙂

This is a wonderful little gem of a deli with some great and unusual menu items that you don’t see too many places. I have been here with a group of ladies on two different occasions and everything we have eaten have been fabulous. The desserts are out of this world. All handmade right on the premises by the owner. I will definitely be going back for more of the menu items. Give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Hands down, best breakfast tacos I have had in a very long time. My potato, egg, and cheese tacos were phenomenal. I even had some with bacon. Really good! The owner even gave my family treats to try – the brownies & cake pops were so good! Very friendly atmosphere, and kid friendly (which was awesome because my young kiddos can get loud). I will definitely be coming back to try more stuff from the menu!

First up, the employees were very kind and customer-oriented. I don’t blame them for anything, and I was more than fine with the couple of mix-ups that happened. They tried to make it all right and were very apologetic.
But… the ice cream was just not that good. The butter pecan caramel and marion berry pie ice creams I tried were just… weird. I settled for a simple single scoop of vanilla bean with some hot fudge and peanuts. The hot fudge tasted like molasses or barbecue sauce and was tangy, and one of the employees agreed it was weird
. Not a common adjective for hot fudge. None of us was sure what had happened to it, but they remade my one scoop sans hot fudge, and it was fine. They also gave us a brownie for our trouble, but the brownie had a really strange flavor to it, which my kids and I all agreed on. Akin to fish.
So… off night, maybe. Fine. But the ice cream was pretty mid and the prices were high.
Perhaps it’ll improve. I hope so. I’d like to have a good homemade ice cream place in Rockwall. For now I’ll head to Fate. Cheaper and quite a bit better.

My kiddos and I stopped by last night and were met with the nicest and friendliest staff ever. Their customer service was through the roof. We ate the delicious ice cream in seconds! I recommend the J-dubs if you like peanut butter!
Oh, and they have frozen ice cream cakes for sale as well!
