Double drive through with one pay/pickup window. In a busy strip mall (w/a Food Lion) so there’s plenty of parking.
To the Owner Brian:
Great job working the kitchen alongside your staff on Christmas Eve. You don’t see that everyday. The place was super clean, staff was great, and the food was delicious. Good luck down there and thanks for the Fiesta Pack for the road
Food is not impressive, very small tacos so you’ll need a large fry, yes that have fries, to fill you up.
The classic burrito was not great, the grilled chicken burrito was the best thing I tried.
Might try their burgers and epic burrito next time.
Staff is very very helpful, they’re new and they’ll make some mistakes but give them a break, I’m sure they’ll get better.
The place is brand new so it is clean.
Will give them another try soon.
My go-to favorites? The chili cheddar fries with extra cheese (because obviously), the classic value snack-size tacos, and the classic bean & cheese burrito—add green sauce, onions, and extra cheese for perfection
So excited to finally have Del Taco in Virginia Beach!
Helping size was good, self serve ordering is slow, food was flavorful. You need someone permanently on a cash register and a supervisor that can lead a crew.
Stopped for lunch, being Del Taco is new in Virginia Beach, and having ate at several in California. Several things I didn’t like… I was there a total of 40 minutes. Not one person wiped a table, they were in desperate need of that! Mine had food debris, old napkins, hot sauce spills and fries. The floor was filthy, same here, napkins, sauce packages, food debris scattered about, mainly under tables and in the self serve area for drinks.
My order was incorrectly prepared. The photo clearly shows the receipt with sour cream and salsa, never made it into the tacos, and those items are upcharges, $0.50 each.
And lastly, probably the worst…
People working the line preparing food, walked off the line while wearing those nitrile gloves, completed various tasks, and returned to food handling duties and DID NOT put on a new set of gloves! Accessing reach-in coolers, refilling empty food container bins, squeeze bottle toppings, cash register operations… all being touched by nearly every employee at some point… and then to have the line crew, go directly back to food handling. Food contamination is not something I want added as a topping for tacos!
Get the supervisor on duty to supervise, not serve the drive-thru! At one point, the order board appeared to be full, like 10 or more orders being worked. It could have been 100.. contamination and cleanliness are major issues that make people never come back!
Accuracy as well, make someone sick, they tell everone.
Update: 1/19/26. I went today and ate inside. Easy ordering experience with the touch screen. Great food. Great service. The sun was out blasting the dinning area. Have you thought about putting up some shading or tint for the windows?
