We stopped on the way into Denver and were really happy we did. The food was very good with quality ingredients, in large portions, and for a reasonable price. It’s an easy on/off the highway in a not busy area. The food was a tad spicy for me (I’m a wimp) but tasted so good that I just utilized water and horchata to thoroughly enjoy the meal.

Did I visit the same restaurant that the other reviews are raving about? Bright, colorful building that I’ve noticed many times driving by on I-70? It sure doesn’t seem like it. “If you order a Burrito be prepared because they are huge!” – nope. “The food is the best on the I-70 corridor!!!” – no way. “You definitely get your bang for your buck here.” – not compared to some places I could name.
I’m not trying to be overly negative; it just didn’t live up to expectations set by the rave reviews. No free chips and salsa here. My #6 burrito and enchilada combo ($15.67) was pretty good, except the refried beans lacked any flavor whatsoever. My wife’s chicken tinga burrito ($10.35) was larger, covered with green chili, and at 1/3 less cost, a better value. $3.75 for a drink is pushing the upper limits of what I’m used to. Oh, and they triggered one of my pet peeves – asking for a tip before any service has been provided.
It’s probably the best Mexican food in Deer Trail, and we were glad to get it. Just go in with realistic expectations.

Our bill was $82 and the mexican hamburger was just a hamburger with a piece of ham on it, which is not a mexican hamburger. We ordered smothered beef burrito just got a burrito not smothered. Tried to call and ask what we can do could we bring it in and fix and they hung up on us. Why? Not worth it.
