I went there for the first time with my husband last night for our second wedding anniversary. From start to finish this experience was BETTER THAN MY WEDDING, and was one of the best nights of my life. My husband called ahead and was able to bring his own flowers to have on the table when we arrived together…. not only did they let this happen, but they offered to go get flowers if my husband didn’t purchase them yet. A live jam session went on which was amazing and I did not enjoy jazz before this experience. The gentleman ruined any preconceived thoughts I had about jazz being “dull”. They were funny, talented, personable and truly gave an engaged performance I only witnessed in the movies prior to this. So the service was amazing and entertainment lets not forget about the FOOD. They had just updated their menu recently with cute names like will you marrow me, and let the breast rest. I thought it was cute and fun but wondered how the food would taste. I ordered the french onion like I do at any restaurant that has it…it was hands down the best, biggest, most beautiful bowl of french onion I have ever ate. Then I had “Let the Breast Rest” which was so saucy and flavorful. I am fantasizing over going back there next, maybe next time for a cooking class…because if this place wasn’t cool enough they often cooking classes and receive their ingredients from LOCAL farmers. This place is a MUST!!!!

My wife and I ate here and it was mostly positive. The drinks were good albeit a bit overpriced for what you got. My wife had the salmon which was very good. I had the brisket dinner. The vegetables of the meal were quite good but the meat was not very warm and tasted like it had been reheated and not cooked fresh. Good atmosphere but we won’t be going out of our way to go back any time soon.

Atmosphere, server, and overall food was good.
Our server, Brady, was super friendly! He had tables all over the restaurant, so water refills were a little slow, but he really knew the menu, and never made us feel rushed.
Food was good! Took awhile for our entrées to make there way out; but they were definitely delicious.
I couldn’t try any of the desserts, due to an allergy. My boyfriend said his dessert was only okay. He said the chia seeds and cream overpowering, and he was expecting more of a coffee flavoring.
Not disappointed with the overall experience though. Will be making our way back.

We arrived at about 8 p.m. and were told by the rude hostess that it would be a 40 minute wait for four people. She never smiled and made it seem like we weren’t welcome. We decided to go to the bar, and the bartender and drinks were very good, but very pricey. We immediately noticed that there were numerous tables available in the restaurant. The hostess told us there were no tables available. We finally got to our seats at about 9:15 p.m., and by that time the kitchen was all out of French onion soup, the signature soup we went there for in the first place. There was only one other table occupied in the dining room. The waiter seemed preoccupied with getting the dining room cleaned out because the kitchen closes at 10 p.m. The music was good and the atmosphere, food was okay, pricey. The service was terrible. Probably won’t go there again.

I’m sorry that a few people have had a bad experience here. I guess that can happen anywhere on a given day. But we’ve been to Dégagé a half dozen times and have thoroughly enjoyed it every time. Last evening we attended a seminar on the second floor that served entrees from Dégagé. I ordered the Bourbon Salmon (I order salmon a lot) and I have to say it was the BEST, BEST, BEST salmon I’ve ever had in my life. Melt in your mouth DELICIOUS! I also want to ad that Joe does wonderful things with pork and beef too. I’m not kidding. If you haven’t been there, you gotta try it at least once!. Kudos to Joe and staff!

I came out with some friends on a Saturday night to have a few drinks and enjoy some live jazz.
The wait staff was fantastic and the drinks were good… and the live jazz was out of this world.
However, they have a woman with an attitude problems taking names that really, really needs to be addressed. She had a major attitude and made it seem like she was doing us a huge favor by taking our cover charge and seating us. And based on the feedback from my friends who had been to Degage Jazz Cafe before – it’s a moderately regular occurrence with her.

Beautiful old building with great food and music to match. Wonderful friendly service. The food is always local and always fresh. Chef Mike always has something new and exciting to try on the seasonally rotating menu. The wine, beer and spirits selection is exceptional. Live music every Tuesday-Saturday. They showcase wonderful local talent as well as brining in well known bands on special dates. If you have never been you need to give this place a try!

First time there and absolutely loved it! Live Jazz within an old soulful building, great outgoing help all around making our group of 4 very comfortable. Don’t even get me started about the cuisine!! All I can say is “Wow”. Do yourself a favor-you deserve it- try the 10 ounce Smoke Steak. It actually melts in your mouth!!

Love the atmosphere here. Casual if you want it to be or dressy if you need it to be.
The use locally sourced ingredients which is very nice to see. Menu is creative and everything we have had is fabulous.
A must have is the smoked salmon plate, one of their many cheese plates, and the sweet swine jam.
Local jazz artists are featured in the club as well.

Great food! First time there and I ordered their French onion soup which is phenomenal! I also highly recommend the Spiced Quackin Confit! The outside was seared and had a wonderful crunchy texture when the inside was so tender it tasted like it had been in a crock-pot for hours. The apples and spices makes it taste like fall, and was great when paired with a glass of wine. The plate was the perfect size when it was split with my mother-in-law, otherwise would have been too much for one person. If you plan to go on a Saturday, make sure that you make a reservation. We did not and were seated in their heated patio but still got to see and hear the music over the TV’s they have, but the scene would have been better inside where the performance was.
