Stopped here for beer and pizza before heading into Colonial Theatre for a comedy show. It’s super close to the theatre, so that’s a huge plus. I liked their food and beer, but most importantly, being a huge music lover, I loved the decor of this place.

Nice little spot for craft beer in downtown Laconia. Their selection is very rounded and offers something for any beer lover on draft or in cans. The staff is welcoming and friendly as well. The outdoor area is dog friendly but there are only a couple of tables so if it’s a nice day and you have your dog you may not be able to get a seat. We’ll be back again!

We had an extremely disappointing experience here. We ordered a chicken sandwich and some pizza roll sticks. Guess what, we waited for 30 mins for the food and the chicken in the sandwich was still frozen. The pizza sticks were not rolled, it was a blend pizza with no favor. Even though the beers here were fine, I still don’t understand how this was a 4.9 rating place.

I found this hidden gem in the middle of Main Street, downtown Laconia, from my daughter. Sometimes word of mouth is the best advertising.
Located next to the Colonial Theatre, it’s a great place to drop in for a trip down memory lane via Classic Vinyl, along with a beverage and tasty bite!
What started out as a quick stop, became a lengthy catch up with friends who had the same idea. I would love to come back and try out the listening room. We are Jerry Garcia fans and we were pleased to see a Garcia album that we had never heard of before.
Lastly, check out upcoming yoga and mimosa with Kayla events here. Next one will be Sunday, October 31, 2021, 12-2.

Such a cool spot with a relaxed but rockin vibe! Drink local craft beer while browsing a nice selection of old & new records, CDs and cassettes! Tasty bar munchies when you’re hungry. Super friendly and sweet staff! A new favorite weekly spot!

First thing that struck me when I walked in this place was how clean, if not spotless it was. Not sure how long this has been open (as of my visit: April 9, 2024) but it would pass hospital standards. The floor to ceiling windows at the front of the storefront were spotless, so what did I see… someone cleaning them again.
The bartender was very welcoming (as was some random stranger at the bar who I thought may have been the owner but no… just some cool dude) explaining every beer on tap in great detail. The beer I had was priced very, very reasonably and the selection was varied. I’ve visited multiple bars/breweries in Mystic, CT and they would have charged easily twice for what I had at Defiant. The decor is quirky, with fake skeletons dressed for Easter and the “leg lamp” adjoining the bar from “A Christmas Story.” Some great music videos played on the flat screen. Root beer on tap and a bag of chips (also very reasonably-priced) satisfied our boys who accompanied us. Highly worth a visit if you’re in the area, you won’t be disappointed.

Great place to stop in. Come in with my daughter regularly. She loves the daughter root beer and cheesy bread. I love the wonderful selection of great craft beer. We both enjoy the atmosphere and service. Look forward to stopping in soon.

Brought some friends from out of town for lunch and had a blast
1. The staff is super friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about their extensive drink selection.
2. They have a very select beer selection. Locals, high quality and a variety! Not overloaded with IPAs! You can tell they are very selective. Also, a very nice Not Beer selection. At least for lunch I think this place is very kid-friendly.
3. Food was tasty. Mostly bar food. Soft, baked pretzels, pizza sticks and tator tots. I would suggest the pretzel with the beer cheese.
4. Records were very cool…nice selection but didn’t really spend lot of time browsing.
5. Sit indoors on the couch, outside tables, tables for 4 or even hi-tops to hang out on. Whatever your favorite way to drink a beer…they got it .
I’m a local and will definitely be back and recommend Defiant to my friends!

Been visiting Defiant for the beer and record selection for about 1 year. What I found is genuine friendly staff and patrons. All of us enjoying a pint and some social interaction. Record selection is reasonably priced and good quality.
Do not hesitate to stop in and have a beer, it’s a spectacular visit in downtown Laconia!!

I have visited Defiant Records and Craft Beer several times during festivals in Laconia or to catch live music. The place has a really cool feel and the staff are amazing! Also, they serve hard seltzers, hard ciders, and wine along with craft beers
