We were looking for lunch but the town was on siesta. Deer Creek was open for Breakfast, lunch and dinner. We also scored a reservation for Thanksgiving. Best turkey I ever had. Outside seating is available overlooking the Deer Creek. New owners about a year ago. If you haven’t been in a while, it’s time to check it out. They say the breakfast is great.

This is a great place in Nevada City California ( where I used to live awhile ago). It’s a great location with indoor and outside dining. The creek outside has always been a plus! It has changed hands several times over the years but I hope this one sticks because they offer breakfast..lunch…dinner..brunch…
And happy hour.
We happened to get there after my appointment and hit happy hour ( starts at 2pm until 5pm). I shared the cheeseburger with fries for 11 bucks! Hamburger was a nice size and the fries were perfect and crunchy!
We had the most awesome and kind server..ANDREAS! He was so attentive and also made us awesome happy hour drinks! What an asset to this establishment!
They also have daily specials. We saw cioppino on their Friday special so we ordered that as well. It was tasty and came with cheesy bread. It’s hard to find cioppino nowadays because the cost to make it is so expensive. This was wallet friendly!
Love the doggy menu and that they are pet friendly! Full bar with inside and outdoor seating along the creek. They serve breakfast…lunch…dinner..brunch…

But, really it’s such a cool spot – especially in the Summer when you can sit out on the deck by the creek! I’m SO glad another, casual concept moved in! I’ve been doing a burger review series (on my socials and YouTube) and this new restaurants was recommended to add to my list. I’m glad it was! Service was fast and efficient. The food was fresh and good. We’ll definitely be returning to try other things!

Great place to meet friends, for a romantic date or a family meal. Menu has something for everyone and there is a full bar. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. Parking lot has limited spaces but there is street parking as well as other lots nearby. View of the creek & natures beauty create a calm ambiance.
Now for the important stuff… Food is excellent!!! Highly recommend the French Dip! Fries are crispy and cooked to perfection. Salads are fresh and dressings are tasty. You HAVE to try the biscuits. Wow!! Service is exceptional. Rob is a great asset to Deer Creek. His bartending skills are spot on and his friendly attentive service is welcoming yet professional.
We will happily return soon and hope to make this a regular spot to dine with family & friends.

Came here after hiking deer trail for my sisters birthday. Rob our server totally matched our energy and did an excellent job! Helped us navigate their giant menu and was super patient with us being so indecisive. We ended up splitting the pesto chicken sandwich and fried chicken sandwich. Both were delicious but we both agreed the fried chicken sandwich was the winner. Onion rings were perfectly crispy, sister loved her garlic fries. Rob overheard me mention her birthday, went above and beyond and brought her a slice of chocolate cake. 10/10 recommend and will be back for sure!

Nice outdoor view, but the food is mid at best. Second time giving this place a chance after my first visit a few months ago. I only gave it another chance because I was told it’s under new management. Unfortunately my the chicken sandwich was made with 2-3 generic chicken tenders. Fries were good. Sherly temple tasted like the Sprite was old bar soda cheap grenadine and NO CHERRY lol My wife’s salad looked good though.

Amazing Cocktails and great Happy Hour food, one of the few places open on Monday’s in Nevada City. I highly recommend, Jackie is one of the Best Bartenders in town and the place is Dog Friendly, they even offer pet treats and have a doggy menu. Definitely recommend!

They are doing great for a new restaurant. We enjoyed the front room which had a quieter ambiance than the bar. We got a good seat near the heater because it was cold.
The food was delicious and came out in the perfect amount of time.
The dessert menu was unique and cleverly planned. Totally worth getting.

3 of the 4 of us ordered the special, birria tacos. The 4th member of our group ordered the biscuits and gravy. The birria tacos were mediocre at best. The meat was dry and the sauce/braising liquid was flavorless. Nothing is offered as an accompaniment with the tacos such as pico de gallo. It’s simply 3 tacos and nothing else. As far as the biscuits and gravy go, no bueno! The biscuits were dense and the gravy was flavorless. The gravy tasted like flour. Its too bad because both these dishes are relatively simple to prepare. Very disappointing meal for our group. On a different note, our server was outstanding! Unfortunately I can’t remember her name.
