This place was the best Nigerian restaurant service I have had in years. The food was good, rations were good, the owner was respectful to customers and was very nice to speak with. We ordered abula/amala and poundo/egusi, puff puff, and meatpie. The meatpie actually had proper meatpie filling in it which is always not the same in most Naija restaurants. Whenever I make it back to Oregon, I will be stopping by. 10 over 10 across board. (I only wish the puff puff was sweeter sha). We ordered like one hour in advance such that when we got there it only took 10 minutes for our food to be ready.

Ordered joloff rice as I heard it was very good. I asked the vendor what protein he’d recommend and he said turkey. The turkey was so dry and tough that I could not even eat it and I couldn’t eat the sauce because there were turkey bone fragments in it. The rice was bland so I ended up just tossing the whole meal. Very disappointing.

I’m a repeat customer and always order the eba and Okro through Uber Eats. It is consistently amazing every time. The flavors are rich, the okro is perfectly made, and the eba is just right. Even my non-African family loves it, which says a lot. I rarely leave reviews, but this spot truly deserves one. You can take my word for it on this one! I also recommend to try their Jollof! The owners are friendly and sweet as well.

It was my first time in Oregon and I was craving Nigerian food. The food was great but beware the peppered snail is literally 1 piece. I ordered through uber eats and it was $13, I was super disappointed and it made my entire experience quite sour.

The food was delicious! So grateful that there’s a Nigerian food place near by with authentic cuisine. If you are West African or wanting to try food from that region, this is the place to go for authentic food. My husband and I went twice in the span of 4 days. Love the energy of the owners too!

Please do note that the food tends to take 30-45 minutes to be served as they often make orders from scratch. Be aware and plan accordingly by either calling to order in advance or being mentally prepared to wait. I’ll tell you right now, YES! The food is worth the wait.

I’ll start by saying we waited for our food for just under an hour. I’m not sure what happened, but it was extremely long on the wait. They did give us a couple complimentary puff puffs, but I’m not really sure that made up for the wait.

So why am I still giving a 5 star review? Simply put, the amala and abula soup. No exaggeration, that was one of the best soups I’ve ever had. It was absolutely amazing, and we will be back to have it again. I’ve been craving more since I finished it earlier today.

Additionally, the owner was apologetic, talked a little with us about the food, and was very nice. We appreciated it.

Excellent. The menu’s chock full of thoroughly authentic Nigerian cuisine. Dishes such as the incredible and unapologetically accurate Pounded Yam and Egusi Soup will transport you right back to West Africa. I’ve tried a few Nigerian restaurants over the years – not only is DeeMeta uniquely authentic, it’s GOOD authentic. This is the REAL DEAL. I love Portland just a bit more because this place exists.

I’m not very familiar with Nigerian Food but I’m now 100% obsessed, I’ve been back twice in a week. The flavors are so incredible and delicious, and you can tell this food is made with care and passion.
So so so good, everyone needs to try this.
