I had a great time here tonight! I was riding my bike around Plainwell and took a wrong turn and happened to see this place. It looked really cool so I decided to stop in. They have a really big and interesting menu, tons of different types of ice cream and cool ice cream creations! Also the prices were more then very fair. I’ll have to come back many times to try everything that looked good! I got chili cheese fries and a malt. They were excellent, the fries were extra good and crispy and the malt was 10/10 the staff was very friendly! The property is beautiful right on the river and a peaceful quiet park. I really enjoyed sitting outside having my meal. I would recommend Dean’s ice cream for sure and am looking forward to coming back! It turns out my wrong turn was definitely the right turn

Haven’t lived in the area long but stumbled on this place on a night where we all just wanted some good ice cream. We were greeted by one of the owners (The wife, I didn’t happen to catch her name). She was a total gem! Super nice and friendly. They have tons of items to choose from & it’s all around a cozy spot. Definitely our new go to place!

This place was so cute and affordable. They gave us so much ice cream I couldn’t eat it all. There is a large menu of ice-cream and food. The huge chair is so adorable plus the location is beautiful. We will definitely return. The bridge that goes over the river is so beautiful and there is a great park to enjoy as well.

There was a line when we arrived but the workers were quick and polite! The icecream was wonderful and there was a lot of choices! Did not get to try the food, they close that part at 7pm but will be back to try! There was parking along the side of the building as well as a nice walk away across the river and along it. Also loved the playground just a minutes walk away.

Black Cherry shake tasted like plain vanilla. Too expensive for so-so flavor, going to Culver’s, cheaper and much better flavor there. Sad, this was a great place back in the day. Husband wasn’t that happy with his either.

Super quick bite to eat. Husband and I had chili cheese fries and ice cream. Their peach ice cream was SUPER good. Nice cozy place sitting right on the river and in a small neighborhood. If I lived on that block I could see me walking up there every Friday for food and every Sunday for ice cream.
Edit 6/26/22: it’s Sunday, and we went up there for ice cream again. It’s the only place in Plainwell or Otsego we go for it.

This is our family’s favorite spot for ice cream. Nothing says summer like Dean’s and playing by the river! The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable, and the flavors are delicious!

Homemade dairy-free ice cream! Tastes excellent! Great food, great ice cream. We got six shrimp dinners and split them with our kayaking group as well as our ice cream. Beautiful location next to a park along the Kalamazoo River
