My first time here and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was good but not spectacular. I got the sliced pork plate with 2 sides. The wife got the pimento cheeseburger plate with sweet potato fried and loved it. There was a little bit of a wait to get seated but that’s because they were busy. The waitstaff was very friendly and knew most of the regulars by name. I like that!
My favorite part about this place? The price! Two lunches for around $20 bucks including the tip. Can’t beat that!

Just recently started working in Mocksville so I have been trying out new local places. I was very impressed with the service and the food. Plus it was super quick which is nice when you are on a time limit. I had the bbq plate. The hush puppies were so good! It’s hard to find places with vinegar based sauce but they had it and it was good! I will be back!

Stopped by today for the first time. They were still in takeout only mode, but that was just fine. The barbecue with red slaw, but don’t plan on eating and driving. I put way too much on the sandwich to do that. Just a short detour off of I-40 between Winston-Salem and Statesville

Been eating BBQ cooked by Deano for over 40 years, both here in Mocksville and before when he was at the Bucks Bar-B–Que location. I have never eaten a bad meal at either location or at any meal he has catered including my son’s wedding rehearsal dinner.

Came from NY for a week. Found this place, and I can not tell you how the food makes you feel. Pure Heaven. You DO NOT get this up here. The staff is GREAT, talked tattoos, and always made sure we felt at home. Sweet Tea was off the charts. I would pay for the chopped BBQ in bulk to have to shipped North. If you don’t stop and eat, you are missing out on one of the GREAT wonders of the world.

I have eaten here twice. The fries and hush puppies are excellent as well as their burgers. Their bbq however was horrible. It is just mush with no flavor. Ended up throwing most of it away. The tea is good but with takeout only it is a pain trying to get a refill. I do have a complaint since they went back to take out only. They only have one table outside to eat at. The other one is broken. Sometimes it is just too hard eating in a vehicle when you thought you would be able to eat inside.

Didn’t eat the bbq. Got a cheeseburger and it was okay. Service was okay but probably would have been better if I was a regular. Nothing spectacular but not the worst food I’ve ever ate. If you want a super clean and organized place to eat this isn’t the place for you. If you don’t mind a cluttered dining room with okay service you’ll love it.

Consistently good food. Great staff / family running the restaurant. Highly recommend you give them a try. Cheeseburgers, BBQ and chicken philly are among my favorites – not to mention fountain Cheerwine and some of the best sweet tea!

Well they got our order wrong and gave us four sandwiches instead of two so I went ahead and bought them anyway because we were craving barbecue. They forgot the sauce and the barbecue was pretty dry. The next day we tried to eat one of the other ones and it didn’t taste right. Also the french fries were extremely soggy. Very disappointed in the barbecue. Was looking forward to trying some good since there is no where in Mocksville to have good barbecue. However, I have had other stuff from here and it was good a couple of years back,so maybe it was just a bad day.

Hometown goodness and welcoming atmosphere. Super fast service and reasonable prices. I tried the BBQ ribs and mashed sweet potatoes today and both were very good. There are daily menu specials (meats and veggies, sides) and regular popular local items like barbecue pork and chicken, homemade potato chips, and variety of desserts. Deano came by a couple of times to check on me. It was very nice to see him out visiting patrons in the dining room. Plenty of parking nearby.
