I will say for the price I was expecting a bit more… Taste like carrs donuts but with really pretty, better tasting frosting.
Other than the donuts not being worth the price… the coffee is good and the place is very cute.

That POG Whip donut is literally the best donut I’ve ever had! I was a bit skeptical at first at how a passion fruity donut would taste but it genuinely blew me away. Other donuts were delicious as well and I love all of their house made drinks, especially their cappuccinos, definitely the best coffee in the valley! Definitely recommend!!!

Finally stopped by today and managed to snag a dozen donuts before they sold out. After being that monster who takes a bite out of each one ‍♀️, I can confidently say they’re worth every penny—each donut was delicious! The scallion cream cheese–filled Bismarck with everything bagel seasoning was such a delightful surprise. And as someone who LOVES cinnamon rolls, I can’t recommend the cream cheese Cinny Pershing enough! I also tried their carrot cake coffee latte, which was sooo good.
I truly cannot recommend Dead Horse Donuts enough, and I can’t wait to try more of their flavors in the future! ☕️

– Brown butter cardamom pistachio: 8.5/10
– Maple bacon bar: 8.5/10
– Blackberry lemon lavender: 8/10
– Cherry apple fritter: 7/10

Hands down best donuts I’ve ever had! You can tell they take pride in what they put out. The maple bacon donut is wayyyy underrated, I got it with a few extras they had given me because they were close to closing and it was so flippin good, everything tastes so fresh and the donuts are fluffy and full of flavor but not overly sweet!

I was skeptical about the price at first, but it quickly made sense. You’re paying for real craftsmanship, local ingredients, and people earning living wages. That matters.

To the person who said it tastes like a Carrs donut… respectfully, which Carrs are you going to? If you want a small, mass-produced, sugar-bomb donut, sure—grab a Krispy Kreme from Carrs or Fred Meyer. I just saw they’re $1.99 for something smaller than my hand.

But if you want thoughtfully made treats and to support your actual neighbors, this is the place. The quality is there, and the intention is clear.

Also—so glad you switched to weekend hours!

What a brilliant perfect donut. You can tell there’s care and love on every bite. Actual texture and the balance of the sweetness. Totally worth the drive from Eagle River to Palmer on a cold windy day.

I wouldn’t change a thing, if anything I wish I knew this was gonna be my first perfect donut.
