This was a nice restaurant to end our outing at Balboa Park. No patrons inside at 3pm but that seems normal for the time of day. I hope they’re getting good business because their sandwiches are definitely worth noting. We had the chicken parmesan sandwich and the pastrami sandwich. The main chef/operator recommended the pastrami or philly cheesestake. I’d recommend De Luca’s Restaurant to my friends and family.

I usually order from this place and get a Hawaiian kids pizza for $16 . I walked in last night and ordered a large french fry, and waited for them and I waited 30 minutes sitting there. Then when I got home and looked at the bill 15.91 for a large fry. I could have gotten a whole pizza for that price

Save your money. Disgusting. Poorly prepared. ZERO love was put into this food. Soggy chicken. Nasty pasta sauce that tastes store bought. Watery too. Just overall disgusting and it’s a shame this is supposed to be authentic Italian food. Owners should be ashamed that this is what they’re sending out of their kitchen. Maybe their other dishes are good, but I won’t be coming back to try because how do you get chicken parmesan so massively wrong?!?!?! How???? Soggy nasty mess. Genuinely seems like it was prepared, frozen, then reheated in the oven. Will not be coming back.

We have been in the neighborhood for 23 years and buy bread across the street and always wondered. What a delightful surprise. Pizza is far better than what you can get at the local hotspots and the torpedo sandwich is great. Absolutely fabulous and will definitely come back.
