Reviews
We ordered lamb and beef, and I was surprised to see the total come to $43. I wasn’t surprised that they only accept cash. What was shocking, however, was the taste and quality of the food. This is not the same Kabob House we once loved. The meat was overcooked, less tender, and noticeably different in flavor.
The main reason for this review is the strange taste I noticed while eating the meat. After biting my third piece of meat, it tasted so off that I had to spit it out and rinsed my mouth right away. I became genuinely concerned about getting food poisoning, completely lost my appetite, and stopped eating.
Sadly, after so many years of loyalty, this experience means we won’t be returning. You’ve lost another long-time customer.
But really, you come here for the food because you don’t want to sit down at the De Afghanan Cuisine place which is just across the side road alley. Go there for a more authentic Afghan vibe. And because you are here for the food, the food is good! However you can not get the lamb shank dish called Quabili Pallow. A must order if you like lamb then you must go to the cuisine place. Same owner.
improvement!
I had the triple meat
Overall 90% satisfaction! the service could’ve gone better if we were offered topping up our water or at least offered an extra water and all.
Chicken tikka kabob was insanely juicy and tender, perfectly charred and seasoned. And that beef chapli kabob, melt-in-your-mouth delicious with a complex blend of spices…
But hold onto your hats, folks, because the bolani stole the show! Packed with leeks and paired with their tangy, homemade yogurt dipping sauce, it was a flavor explosion! That yogurt is the perfect sidekick to the savory filling, creating a taste sensation that’ll leave you wanting more…De Afghanan is a MUST-TRY!
Bodinjon Borani – Eggplant Appetizer
Murgh Kabob – Chicken dish
Quabili Pallow – Lamb Shank dish
Baklava and Sheer Yakh – Sweet
Out of the above 4 items – Murgh Kabob was delicious and must try and also sweet Baklava
For vegetarians- Bodinjon Borani must try is soo melting in mouth.
Lamb shank I rate 4/10.
Sheer Yakh dessert must try item
Poor service- we got order by 40 minutes
They totally forgot that we ordered desserts and we need to remind them again and again.
I asked why they are late and they replied we are busy
But I see there was only 2 families sitting in restaurant.
Please see attached images.
Love afghan brown rice and the kebab. Lamb kebab was juciy and tender.
