Best donuts in Colorado (!) just a block from Amtrak’s Southwest Chief. The train stops for 15 minutes- just enough time to grab donuts & coffee. Or if you’re driving through .. stop in and thank me later.

We used to have a Daylight Donuts in San Antonio which I missed. Stopped in for a fritter and a milk- was charged $10. Thought it seemed steep, asked for the receipt and was given it. It had 3 bearclaws and a drink on it. I told him “I think you may have rung me for the wrong order” – he started to argue, when I showed him the receipt and what he had just put in my bag he reached into the till at gave me two $bills. I decided not to press the matter over just a few dollars, but it was an odd experience for such a slow day at the shop. Still, paying double price for what was supposed to be a quick and cheap breakfast was weird

This place would have decent donuts if they would simply replace their old rancid grease with some fresh grease that isn’t rancid.
You can taste it in the donuts,
and when you burp later, the grease tastes old and rancid.

There is no point going back there to see if they correct the issue.
I will avoid their gas station products from now on as well.

Smallest glazed donut I’ve ever purchased. And definitely not the best. This is a fifty cent donut sold for a dollar. I should have known something was wrong with this place. It was dingy, poorly lit and very uninviting. Definitely could use a little more daylight!

Great donuts only open till noon unless donuts sell out before then. Closed on Sundays. They accept cash or debit cards however there is a 4% upcharge for using your debit card. To top it off if you don’t want to get out of your car there is a drive thru. All good things to know.
