Absolutely fantastic! Whenever I’m in Elkhart, I HAVE to get pizza here. I have found no other pizza like this any where else I’ve been.
Even if you’re driving down the Indiana Toll Road, it’s worth the slight detour!
This is even great leftover pizza!
Stuffed pizza might say Chicago style on the menu, but it doesn’t quite live up to true Chicago style. Just b/c there is a crust on top, does not make it a truly ‘stuffed’ nor ‘Chicago’ style pizza as was led to believe. Was literally half as short as server suggested it would be. An additional detractor is that the sauce they use is sweet. Pizza connoisseurs know there are two types of sauce: sweet or spicy. Definitely sweet here. Ugh, not my preference. Had to cut it with a ton of crushed pepper.
The Calzone was certainly impressively big, but not quite up to my personal New Jersey standards when it came to the stuffing. And who the heck doesn’t serve any marinara with a calzone? Quite odd.
The rest of our group certainly enjoyed their 18″ pizzas.
The service, decor & ambiance helped make up for what was lacking in my expectations of the food.
In the end, we might go back, but not in a hurry. Would definitely look in to different items on the menu.
What we got tasted like leftovers from Gordon’s Food Service. I think the pasta shells were straight from GFS and the sauce was straight from a can.
Honestly, none of it tasted homemade. Or even real.
It might be ok by Midwestern standards, but as someone who has been to Italy, this was not Italian food. It was more like a rough approximation of what someone thinks Italian food should be.
It’s kinda like calling Hacienda “Mexican food”. Sorta true, really not.
The staff was hard working, almost harried. If you are from the Midwest and enjoy DaVinci’s good on you. I’m still looking for my go-to taste of Italia.
This an Italian restaurant. How do you not have this item so early in the evening? Most importantly why did it take you 40 minutes to tell me this?
Do better.
