We had an amazing time last night here!!! I got a steak, while my husband got the shrimp & scallop pasta. While I was slightly disappointed they change their menu everyday, and I could not get the pasta I saw on reviews, my steak was absolutely amazing. Only downside I have is I asked for a well done (I am pregnant and unfortunately do not eat raw or rare steak for the time being) my steak was medium rare – rare. Which I ate, because honestly it tasted so amazing, but I didn’t finish the last couple bites from the middle due to it being soooo rare.

My husband wasn’t a huge fan of his pasta, he only got 2 tiger prawns, and said he could’ve made better at home.

Other than those two things it was great!! My husband also got a cocktail, couldn’t remember what it was called but he loved it, super strong pour so you get your moneys worth!! The waiters are extremely knowledgeable and attentive!! Amazing service and atmosphere!!

Also, at this restaurant you cannot change or swap out menu items, no customizing whatsoever. Which is very normal for high class establishments. You also cannot take any leftovers, just wanted to add that in for people who haven’t been!

DaVinci is a fantastic place to have dinner. The food is amazing. The ambiance is wonderful and changes depending where you are sat. DaVinci is a top area restaurant and a must dine. We have known the owner Mo for several years and he is extremely picky and detailed when it comes to choosing the freshness of his ingredients. I cannot give you a detailed menu because like many top resaturants, it changes daily depending on the what is fresh and availble. A few items that are somewhat regular on the menu are the Seafood Pappardelle (seafood cream pasta and a personal favorite) and the American Wagyu Beef Hangar steak (pictured below and amazing!).

We had a great experience at Da Vinci’s. I have been coming here since I was a child and this was my first visit since moving back to the area. The atmosphere was wonderful and the piano player really pushed it over the top. Our server was kind and welcoming. We enjoyed the wine/drink selections and the crispy duck is to die for. Unlike other reviews, we appreciated the dress code since Salem has very few establishments where you can dress up a little. We will be back for more soon.

Davinci Italian Restaurant is a wonderful dining experience! The food was amazing with great flavor and generous portions, and everything came out promptly. The customer service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was so nice and relaxing—not too bright, with live piano music adding a special touch. I also loved the open seating that wasn’t overcrowded. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!

If you wear a hat for medical reasons, please know that you will be asked to remove it at the door. Then, you will have to either explain your medical condition to a complete stranger while being eyed by other customers or remove your hat in front of everyone. I just want folks to be aware of DaVinci’s asinine and insensitive anti-hat policy before they step through the door!

My chicken rigatoni tasted EXACTLY like it was drenched in Tabasco. It was gross, and I couldn’t even make it though half of it. My husband’s “airline chicken” tasted like it was marinated in nothing but a giant stick of butter. I wasn’t impressed by the food at all. Our server, a white man with the glazed, apathetic stare of a serial killer and the arrogant dismissiveness of a 16-year old boy, couldn’t have cared less about us. He’s clearly had enough of this job, which I can understand, but we spent a lot of money to come here and were hoping to at least have basic level table service instead of someone who forgot half our items until reminded, and acted like he was debasing himself by interacting with us.

The kindly and talented elder gentleman who plays piano is a gem, and the restaurant itself has a pretty atmosphere. (If you do go to DaVinci’s despite my warning, I suggest bringing a cash tip for the piano man’s jar, as he is the only one there who really deserves recognition!) However, there are so many places in town where you can get 100x better food at half the price. We spent over $200 for this unfortunate experience. I’d skip this restaurant if I were you!

I went here for my first wedding anniversary and our server Linda, easily one of the best servers we’ve ever had, along with the delicious food, made it a truly amazing experience. We tried the beef tartare, ahi crudo, and the squid ink pasta along with some cocktails and croissant bread pudding to top it all off and I will definitely be back with more company to share this incredible spot.

Great little restaurant that’s perfect for a romantic dinner. Very nice atmosphere and seating area upstairs.
Service and food was spot on. Ordered the bone marrow appetizer and the crisp duck entree – both was delicious.
I’ll definitely be back.

I thought the menu was overdone and left me searching for a complete meal that i would enjoy in its entirety. The lamb chops i had were beautifully cooked but such a small portion for a nearly $70 entree left me hungry and debating if i should get a burger on the way home. Its very dark and the piano played constantly while we were trying to talk so it wasnt the best atmosphere for conversation but it is very pretty inside.

If they had a more classic menu, didnt charge outrageous prices, and had better hours, this place would be WAY more popular.

I went here on a Friday evening and sat at the bar sipping on a cocktail listening to a nice gentlemen playing piano music. The atmosphere is intimate and beautiful. They have done a great job of creating a special place to dine. The hostess and I believe owner were very kind. The bartender was just ok, not super friendly & my cocktail was just ok. Their prices are very expensive for me though. I’m sure worth it for an anniversary date night or special occasion but not when you are on a budget. I don’t know if they give complimentary bread to every customer, most Italian restaurants do. I did get a yummy cheesy bread basket but it was almost 1 hour after getting there. I was grateful for it and it was delicious, just odd to get that much later.

Awesome if your taste runs toward the 1950s Frank Sinatra type Italian restaurants with live piano and lights turned down so low, you need a lamp on your table. The food is made with quality ingredients but each dish seems to have one or two too many ingredients. If you want to switch up a gazpacho by adding watermelon, fine I like that okay. Okay. But then to add feta and basil as well to it? Not really gazpacho anymore, is it? This seemed to be the theme throughout the evening. An attempt to make everything seem sophisticated by overcomplicating it. It didn’t really work for any of the dishes I had, although all were quite a bit better, than you will find in almost any other restaurant in the food desert that is Salem. I’m guessing this is the place in Salem most likely to host lobbyists taking state senators out for a fancy lunch.
