If you do one thing in Madison, WI: eat here. No food should be this good?!! Fall off the bone meat. Flavors 100/10. Ate here on a whim and it’s the best meal I’ve had. Might stay in Madison JUST for this food.

An absolutely phenomenal first visit to David’s. He was incredibly kind and when I asked if he had festival bread he offered to make me some! (he should definitely put it on the menu, im sure it would be a hit). I am blown away by the food and level of service. Highly recommend the pineapple tofu and plantains too! I’ll have two more meals out of the one portion I received!!

I’ve been thinking about trying for the longest time but never did because the ‘David’ name made me think it wasn’t going to be to authentic but I was wrong it was very good! I personally love spicy food. This wasn’t spicy at all but I think it works for midwesterners but I got it as take out so I was able to add heat no problem. (Got the jerk tofu with a side of fried plantains)

First time here. Very very good. I got the jerk chicken and ribs. The meat was fall off the bone, and i got enough food to take home the rest i didn’t eat and i have a full meal tomorrow. The fried plantains are equally just as good. I will definitely be back!

The place was great! It’s kind of a hole in the wall location but the food was awesome. The service was great too. The owners seemed to take great pride in their business, which was awesome. My husband and I were both impressed with our food. It was so flavorful! Definitely give this place a try.

When we walked in, we were told by a solo woman that we’d have to wait a bit, since there were 3 orders ahead of us, and she was alone. Well, this PRO got the food out in under 10 minutes, and it was hot and generously portioned. We got plantains (again, HOT), veggies and rice, jerk tofu, and jerk chicken. The tofu was not spicy, but really flavorful – and we got plenty of jerk sauce on the side which IS spicy (scotch bonnet peppers). We spent $50 and got enough food to feed our family of four for a week. We all LOVED the food. Easy to eat gluten-free and vegan. We will be back for sure.

Portions are good, the food isn’t as flavorful as you’d expect Jamaican food to taste. I expected more in flavor, spice. The jerk chicken was good in portion texture just lacked flavor.
