TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

My first time at Dave’s Hot Chicken, and I’m officially a fan! I used the app and got a free fountain drink, which was a nice bonus. The restaurant is spotless—clean restrooms, clean dining area, and a modern, welcoming setup with plenty of parking and even a quick drive-thru section.
I ordered the Cauli Bites (hot) and one single tender (extra hot)—both were delicious! The chicken quality is outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The prices are great for the portions you get, and I’m already planning to try the “reaper” level next time.
Alyssa greeted me with such friendly service and made my visit even better. The whole staff was kind, quick, and professional. It’s a new location, and they’re already doing an amazing job.

I did not expect to like these chicken sliders as much as I did! The seasoning was on-point and the pickles were so crunchy and fresh. The kids and I got the medium-level spicy, and that was the perfect level for getting a little heat while still being able to taste the seasoning. I asked for the chicken tender on the side to be made extra spicy, and indeed it was–my nose was beading with sweat. I like spicy food, but between the medium & extra spicy, I’ll go with medium next time. The fries were great: crunchy and well-seasoned. They just season everything really well!

Absolutely love Dave’s Hot Chicken! Everytime we go, the food is always hot and fresh! The chicken is juicy and depending on the heat level- it’s perfect! I’m from the Midwest originally and so I’m not able to handle a ton of heat so I tried Mediom which was a tish on the hot side for me. I’ve had Mild in the past and prefer that one much better. The only issue I had was I ordered cheese sauce only, they rang me up for cheese fries which I noticed as I waited for my food. When I went back up, the manager took care of it quickly. Only thing, they forgot the cheese sauce on my order! No biggie, again they corrected it quickly. Staff is friendly and great interior decor.

I was so happy when I saw that there was a Dave’s hot chicken on the side of town. We went through the drive-through and we were not disappointed. We’ve gone multiple times since and it’s so delicious. I get medium because I’m kind of a wimp and I can’t take the spice but my boyfriend and my sister get extra hot and the reaper and they love it. it’s so delicious you have to go.

This is a very upbeat busy fun vibe all in itself! The staff is super nice! And the chicken I got in two different levels of heat I enjoyed them both they are not messing around with their spices and herbs that they use this is some of the best most juicy chicken I’ve ever had Dave’s sauce is wonderful the seasoning that they put on the fries is delicious I’ll definitely be going back cuz I need to try that mac and cheese!!

First time trying Dave’s Hot Chicken and it did not disappoint! The chicken was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. I usually handle spicy food really well, but the Extra Hot was a little much — definitely hotter than expected. If you like a strong kick, give it a try, but I’d recommend the Hot level for the best balance of flavor and spice.
I tried the sliders with cheese, but honestly, I didn’t feel it added much — I might get it without cheese next time. Overall, a great first visit and I’ll definitely be back!

Pleasant surprise. The chicken was seasoned very well and was crispy! We got plain and mild. The mild was not too spicy and I’ll definitely go up a notch next time I come in. The fries were all crunchy. Their house sauce was a little underwhelming, tasted like ketchup and mayo with some other seasoning. The size of the chicken strips were amazing! The atmosphere and staff were very welcoming.

Finally decided to check this place out and ordered the chicken sampler. The food itself was good and cooked well, but the pricing really took away from the experience. Charging $1.49 for ranch is honestly absurd, especially when it should come standard with a chicken order. On top of that, being prompted for a tip at checkout felt unnecessary.

It wasn’t a terrible meal, but between the extra charges and the service slip ups, it left a bad impression. With dozens of other options nearby that are just as good and a bit cheaper, I highly doubt I’ll be back.

I ordered a large loaded fries plate and received 5 chicken pieces that had no meat, it was all breading. $16 for this plate is horrible. I live 30 minutes away or I would’ve took this back and got my money back. I shared my experience and in the picture you can see how they DIDN’T make it right. I’m super disappointed in the food and the response.
