TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Excellent food and experience. The sliders tasted good, the chicken was juicy, the fries were seasoned well and unique. The portions were good and the prices are reasonable. The service was excellent and the girl at the counter was very nice. Outdoor seating was good too. The only slight thing was that i would have expected the food to be hotter. It seemed like it was pre-prepared which dulled the experience a little.

Food is very tasty. Crispy, well spiced, a tad sweet in the crust which I really enjoy. Good pickles. They have it down for a chain. I got the 10 pc chicken bites and 10 pc cauliflower bites. Exxxxcellentttt.
The interior cleanliness of the restaurant was not great, and the wait time for my two items was a little over half an hour. I will chalk it up to it being close to closing time (I ordered at 10:30, they close at 12 and had already closed some things like the ice cream machine).
There was only one server. Her name is Ose, I believe (got it off the receipt) and she was a sweetheart, lovely considerate service and very accommodating. Made my experience really nice. She gets 5 stars.
Update: came here again, and this time the wait for a single dine in snack was quoted at one hour, actually took 50 minutes. Either this place is terribly understaffed or gets a lot of big catering type orders.

I recently visited Dave’s Hot Chicken and had a pretty great experience overall! The vibe of the place was really nice—casual, fun, and welcoming. The food was delicious, and I absolutely loved the option to customize the spice level for each menu item. They offer three spice levels, which is perfect for someone like me who enjoys a little heat but also likes to have control over how spicy my meal is. The flavor of the burger was on point, and the side sauce was *chef’s kiss*—sooooo good! My only small critique is that the burger could have been a bit juicier, but it was still tasty.
The restaurant was decently clean, but I did notice that the tables inside were a bit sticky, which made the dining area feel less hygienic. Because of that, I decided to sit outside, and thankfully, the outdoor tables were much cleaner. I really appreciate that they offer both indoor and outdoor seating—it’s a nice touch and gives you options depending on your preference.
Overall, I had a great time with my family, and I’ll definitely be back to try other items on the menu. If you’re into spicy food and a cool vibe, Dave’s Hot Chicken is worth a visit! Just maybe bring some wet wipes for the tables, just in case.

Just tried Dave’s Hot Chicken for the first time,the chicken was juicy and perfectly crispy with a bold spice level that got my taste buds going. The friendly staff Rian greeted me right away and offered helpful guidance on the different heat options.. Great first visit, I’ll definitely be coming back!

Amazing atmosphere, extremely friendly staff. Was completely worth the extra drive time to come to this one. In my opinion avoid the one on westheimer. Chicken was so juicy and amazing!! I’d post a picture but it didn’t last long enough!!

I can’t believe I ate all of this! I’m used to eating hot chicken like this but with Mac and cheese, but this plate did not need it at all. The chicken and the fries were so well seasoned. The cheese sauce was not overwhelming, it was a perfect amount for the plate. I am very picky when it comes to food, and this passed. This was my first time trying Dave’s Hot Chicken and I will for sure be back since it’s close to my job. The customer service was meh but I don’t care much for that as long as my food is good lol. I got Kale Slaw on the side and that was good on its own. The chicken was a perfect amount of crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. The fries were seasoned as well and were not soggy at all. I got spice level Hot and it’s basically Nashville hot. Coming back for something a bit spicier!
