TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

We were greeted warmly when we first walked in. We told them that we had never been before, so then Freddy gave us a tour of the menu, offering suggestions and help. He was absolutely delightful! Made this a 5 star fast food experience! Food was delicious. We ended up ordering the spicy Buffalo saucy bites, top loaded fries and a #4, which is sandwich, fries and drink. Everything was hot and delicious. I especially enjoyed the loaded fries with the depth of flavor from the kale slaw, pickles and Dave’s sauce! The only reason I gave it a 4 star for atmosphere was the music was a bit loud…we will definitely be coming back!

Edit: taking off 1 star as the degree of hotness varies between visits. Would advise improving for consistency. That being said, everything else about the original review still remains the same.
Original review: Been here several times now. The service is fantastic, your food will be out before you expect it. Dave’s promises on the heat and it delivers. Tenders and sliders are the ones to go for, fries are so-so. Went for extra hot once and it was too hot to handle.

I wish there were more stars available to give. My wife is very particular and being that was Mother’s Day, she wanted Dave’s. Her orders are difficult and long with lots of substitutions, but Yosef and Zach were so patient and amazing. They not only tolerated my wife they catered to her needs with a level of customer service I’ve rarely seen. They should be managing several stores. Great food, great experience.

First off, Laura at the front counter was fantastic—so friendly, helpful, and genuinely cared about making our first experience at Dave’s a great one. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever been helped by someone so professional and welcoming at a counter. She really set the tone.
The food was excellent, and the portions are huge! I gave the food 4 out of 5 stars—not because it wasn’t good, but just based on personal preference. I ordered the “hot” level, and while it had great flavor and plenty of heat, I personally prefer a saucier, wet-style hot chicken over the powdered seasoning. Still, the chicken was very juicy and fresh, and the sauces were amazing.
Prices are a little on the higher side, but the quality backs it up. Next time, I’ll split a meal with my partner—it’s definitely more than enough for one person with a healthy appetite.
We’ll absolutely be back.

Awesome chicken tenders and absolutely love their shakes! My favorite part about Dave’s hot chicken is how simple it is to order carry out, I also appreciate that when I order carry out they don’t make the shake until I arrive. If you’ve never been here before, you should just go. The food is incredible, one of my all time favorite places. Me and some coworkers used to drive from the west side all the way over the east side after work before they opened up this one. It was worth the 30 minute trip.
Hot chicken is its own thing, different from buffalo chicken, and everyone I’ve ever taken here has been blown away by it. They have different spice levels, so you really can’t go wrong. The chicken tenders are good, but the slider is the way to go.

This was our first visit to Dave’s after driving by several times. So glad we stopped. You enter and it’s a fun, bright interior. We were greeted by the friendliest woman at the counter. The menu is fairly simple but has options. They offer different heat levels for seasoning, including 0. The chicken was fresh and tasty.

I take the tender n bites spice for school kids at Sunday school and the teachers and kids loved it and asked the address.
I took the hot box spice level medium to my office and all loved it and they also asked the address.
It’s really amazing Zabiha Halal Fried Chicken Tenders at very economical prices.
