TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Got 2 chicken sandwiches and the loaded fries. Asked the staff for 2 of the tenders on the fries to be reaper heat and on the side. Even after confirming with the manager on duty, I ended up getting my order with all tenders including the reapers in the same box.

The sandwiches and fries were delicious. I love hot chicken and have been wanting to try Dave’s for quite some time and it did not disappoint. However the reaper nuggets were super thick in powder and was overwhelmingly hot. In not a good way. The extra hot sandwich heat level was perfect however.

Loved the decor of the restaurant. Definitely give Dave’s a shot!!!

I am a Dave and I want to support other Dave’s and Dave focused institutions. I wanted to like it, really I did.

It was lunch time and there was a line. They were moving very slowly. The line wasn’t from a mass of customers, but because the orders were taking too long.

Got the one slider one tender meal. The slider was ok, but noticeably worse than Joella’s or Royals, or even the spicy chicken at Chik Fil A. Mine was extra hot (one notch below the hottest option) and I was not impressed. I don’t make it a manhood test, but I do like some spice. This was pretty bland. They do a very dry breading. I wasn’t a fan and wonder if it’s a less effective way to spice the chicken. The fries were fine and the house sauce pretty good, but the chicken is the main attraction and it’s just not that great.

Delicious Food, Friendly Staff, and a Fun Vibe!
I tried Dave’s Hot Chicken and I’m seriously impressed! The chicken was juicy, crispy, and packed with flavor — you can really taste the quality in every bite. The sandwich I had was perfectly cooked with that spicy kick and the sauce was on point.
The staff were super friendly and welcoming — they made the whole experience even better.
The vibe inside is loud, fun, and full of energy — from the bold wall art to the music and the team’s enthusiasm.

Great experience at this establishment
First time trying and will definitely be back
We got the slider meal and the size of the sliders are way bigger than expected. The 2 sliders are normal sized chicken sandwiches and the fries with cheese were great. Everything was fresh and hot. The inside was very clean and staff was extremely friendly. Highly recommend. The mild and medium were both great flavors with just enough heat. Dave’s sauce was great as well even though they don’t offer ranch. 10/10

As much as I would love to say how great the food was/is I could not taste much else after eating a tiny piece of the reaper. I ate the small piece and sat there for 15 minutes knowing how good it was that there is finally a place that does not lie about the spice. If you enjoy spice and extremely spicy chicken I would totally recommend this restaurant. Ps this is 45 minutes after the fact and I still can not feel my mouth

If you read my other fast food joints you will realize I don’t put five star on them, but this one is amazing, the spices, the fries, the graffitis of the wall. If you can’t handle spice, don’t come here, although they have no spice options but what’s the point. You gotta check this place out. The cashier was so friendly.

Always excited to try a new restaurant and I love hot chicken! I thought the staff was all very sweet, and I loved the decor and vibe in there. The food was hot and crispy, and I love that there is an option to get a slider and a chicken tender meal. I wish they had ranch, Dave’s sauce basically just taste like mayonnaise. Loved that they also offered honey. Slightly over priced- drink not infused in your meal!

If you like unflavored chicken that makes you cough, this is the perfect place for you. I tried giving this franchise the benefit of the doubt by trying a new location. The food visually looks amazing, but I’ve gotten food-fished twice. I’ve tried different heat levels on the chicken, and they all taste unseasoned, with a hint of a random assortment of spices that makes you cough. The sides are mid at best. It doesn’t help that on my final visit, I asked for a milkshake and instead got milk with chocolate in it. Cool atmosphere though.

Another take on hot chicken. Overall, it’s just ok. I personally prefer Joellas. Fries weren’t fresh. Portions are good. Combos don’t include a drink. I enjoyed this place but probably won’t go back. I do dig the logo.

Nice addition to Louisville’s hot chicken portfolio. The food was fantastic—one of the best spice blends in town. The chicken was cooked to perfection.

From a customer’s perspective, the management seems great. The employees were kind, attentive, and helpful.

I would prefer it if condiments were self-serve, it’s a bit odd to need to request them from employees.
