TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I recently visited Dave’s Hot Chicken and was thoroughly impressed. I ordered the Dave’s #3 combo, which includes two large tenders, fries, and a drink. The chicken itself was incredibly crispy on the outside but remained juicy and tender inside, which is exactly what you want from fried chicken. I chose the Medium spice level, which delivered a fantastic kick without being overwhelming, allowing the deep flavor of the chicken to still come through.
What really stands out about this place is the variety of options. They have a great range of spice levels, from “No Spice” all the way up to “Reaper,” so there’s truly something for every palate. The fries were perfectly cooked, and the included pickles and slaw on the side were a nice touch to cut through the richness of the meal.
The service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. It’s a great spot for a casual meal. The restaurant is suitable for all group sizes, whether you’re dining solo or with a large group of friends. I also noticed there was plenty of free parking, which is a huge plus.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience. The food was top-notch, the service was great, and the whole place felt well-run. I highly recommend Dave’s Hot Chicken and can’t wait to go back and try another spice level.

This is some outstanding Southern Hot Spicy Chicken Sandwiches you have here in Florence. Much more heat than the Hot Buffalo I was used to eating elsewhere. Adding the cheese sauce, pickles, and slaw to the Sliders is a must, for an enhanced taste explosion. The restaurant, the Service, and all of the Food is some of the BEST. Try some soon. Now we need this in Myrtle Beach, so we can eat at Dave’s locally.

Awesome place. Inconsistency with the food, missing ingredients, and availability of certain products. I would say this is not the hallmark for a new food chain in the beginning stages and manager was notified. Hopefully, things will improve. Consistency is a hallmark of any reputable restaurant, and when it alters, it can lead a significant decline in customer satisfaction. I believe it is crucial for any business to be made aware when a valued customer perceives a dropping quality, as this presents an opportunity to maintain standards and set apart from other competition. If you’re having problems after the new opening dies down, there’s problem.

I was very excited to try this but it was a definite miss. The fries and the drinks were pretty decent but the seasoning on the chicken was absolutely disgusting. It was like eating seasoned dirt. After only 30 minutes of eating, a family member of mine who also tried this food began vomiting due to it making them sick. If I could give it 0 stars, best believe I would. Never again will they see my face.

Not for faint of heart, if you cant handle spicy beware, light mild might be all you can handle. I love hot spicy food and even the plain hot gets me bit sweaty. Tenders are practically half of chicken breast.

Food was good and decent size for what you pay. Atmosphere is chaotic and loud…you can hardly hear the people at your own table. Plastic knife and fork are a joke…you cant even cut your chicken because the utensils just fold in half. Overall it’s just ok….probably a one and done for my family.average price per person is 15$

First time trying this place and I will definitely be coming back. I have never seen service so good in my life before. I got the heat level “medium” and I felt like there was little to no spice at all so I could definitely go up on the heat myself. Food was amazing, the macaroni was to die for, and as a pickle lover, I LOVE the fact that pickles are added to the side. I will be coming back!
