TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Been here a few times and every time I have been greeted with polite employees, fantastic tasting food and reasonable prices. Not to mention the amazing atmosphere inside from abstract modern painting on the walls and lighting. There slow cooking the food but worth the wait if you have time!

Yikes, I’m visiting from out of state and drove an hr to try this location. Ordered at 818pm received my food at 852pm. I should’ve seen the signs before ordering. A lot of customers were waiting for their food, trash bins were overflowing, and soda dispensers were out of certain flavors. The guys preparing the food seemed apathetic. I think they only had 3 staff members. The food was great but this location definitely needed personnel assistance. I plan to revisit and hopefully management can provide the manpower to assist the team members on a busy Saturday night.

Food is good but wow, the prices are out of control. Their portions have gotten so small. They charge you extra for even 1 pack of Dave’s sauce now- Not even 0.75 cents or something reasonable. $1.50! For a tiny thing of sauce. And the one they give you that’s included is NEVER filled up. Mine was half full at best. If you’re going to charge extra for sauce, at least give me the full portion of the one included. Also, $3.50 for a drink?! Is that a joke?? Probably never coming here again

A lot of folks bragged on how good Dave’s Hot Chicken was, and I had to see what all the hype was about. I finally got my chance, and I was thoroughly impressed! You can choose your spice level of the chicken, and even customize for them to add no spice. I got the two sliders w/fries and chose the “extra spicy” for my chicken. I loved the crunch that the chicken had, and even being “extra spicy” it was the PERFECT spice level to complement the slaw that it’s topped with and the potato bun. It love a great mix of sweet and spicy, which is my personal favorite flavor contrast! Even though the fries are a side, I have a special place in my heart for crinkle cut fries & tots! Service was top notch, and inside was clean with plenty of seating! I’d easily give Dave Hot Chicken 5 ⭐️ out of 5 ⭐️ If you haven’t tried Dave’s Hot Chicken then you definitely need to, because the hype is up to par!

Went on a Sunday and I order the Dave’s number 3. Thought there was too much seasoning which made my mouth dried. The sauce helped made it less dried, but they should put less seasoning. It had the crisp and bread wasn’t soggy. I would give them 3.5 stars if I could. Other than that, I thought it tasted great and they didn’t cheap out with the meat.

We tried to eat here last night and they had the doors locked at 8 PM. There were 2 people in the store cleaning, I imagine it was a slow night and they wanted to get everything cleaned and head out, but if a place is open until 9 you should be able to order food an hour before close. There were 2 other groups with us in the parking lot who were also trying to eat at this time. We have been here previously and it took 45 minutes to get our food, this was also late at night. This is just a bad location. I’ve been to Dave’s other places and the food is delicious, but this location late at night is awful. We went across the street to Chick-fil-A which was open and stays open until their posted closing time.

Yesterday was our first time coming here. My daughter heard about them on TikTok and this location is the closest one to us.
When, we arrived the restaurant was busy. We were greeted warmly by the young lady working the counter. Our family is a large family. They had enough seating to sit all 8 of us not including the people already dining in. They do have outside seating as well.
We decided to try the 2 sliders with cheese and fries. Most ordered mild. We had 2 extra hot and one plain. One order of the mild chicken tenders.
One order of the mild cauliflower bites. They even have the reaper flavor. I was not that brave.
It didn’t take long for our large order to be ready. The sliders are very good with the Dave’s sauce. The chicken is seasoned well and has the crunch on the outside. The fries are seasoned well. The tenders are good. The cauliflower bites are good too. The food is delicious. I would highly recommend coming here to try the food. We will definitely stop back by here when, we are in town.

First time lasr week and got slider with fries. I not a crinkle cut fry fan but these were great and not greasy at all. Had med heat on chicken and was just right and chicken was cooked perfectly. Decor caters to younger crowd and it was noisy.
Downside was the table, it was really sticky and felt unclean

Dave’s Hot Chicken in Wilmington absolutely delivered! The food came out fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. The tenders were crispy on the outside, super juicy on the inside, and the spice levels were spot on. The sliders were stacked and insanely good, and the fries were perfect. Staff was friendly, fast, and the place was clean with a good vibe. Definitely one of the best spots in Wilmington if you’re craving real quality chicken. Highly recommend!
