TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Stopped by for lunch with my kids and everyone was so welcoming and helpful, especially Erika that helped us through the menu since we’ve never been there before. Food came out fast and was soo good. We got the Dave’s bites and slider and fries. Really great staff and establishment!

We finally made our way over to try out Dave’s Hot Chicken… walking in, the space is beautifully decorated! They have 2 kiosks you can use to place your order, or you can order at the counter with an employee. This being our first time here, we fell in line with the others and ended up using the kiosk to place our order. We tried a little bit of everything. Their top loaded shakes, their top loaded fries, the 2 slider meal… for the 2 of us, it came out to just over $54. A bit steep- but, like I said, we tried a little bit of everything on the menu. What lost a star for me, was the INSANE wait time. We came on a Sunday, around 3/4PM. Just before the dinner rush. There was only 2-3 people/orders in front of us. It took every bit of 20+ minutes for us to get our order. THEN the order wasn’t even correct. We placed in for DINE IN (even said so on the ticket) and it was still bagged up/boxed like a to go order instead of their standard dine in trays. NO utensils (They apparently were out of forks?????), I asked for pickles on the side/no slaw on my sliders…. they came covered in pickles and slaw. The staff here missed ALL of the little details THAT MATTER. Our shakes were not made- and had to wait a couple of extra minutes to have those made as well. The employee said, “The kiosk is supposed to tell you to tell us so we can make them.” Well, it didnt. And even if it did- that’s beyond me. Yall dont have a ticket system to see what people are ordering??? Idk if they were having an off day or what (reviews rave about the service here!!), but the service we received was very subpar.
For the money we paid, the service we received, we may be back. I enjoyed being able to choose my own spice level. But we definitely won’t be reordering some things (like the $6 small shake… NOT worth it.)

The staff at Dave’s on Coastal in Chesapeake are always so friendly and welcoming. I love the music but the staff really his above and beyond ensures my food is hot and quick. As soon as you enter you’re greeted and several people employees check in with you and keep the dining room clean and tidy. Great job team!

Went for the Grand opening & was pleased by how positive the vibes were with the employees & the city council folks who cut the ribbon for this lovely establishment. The meal was exquisite. Ordered #2 which is two sliders & fries. All of which are very seasoned & have plenty of flavor (I ordered medium). Amazing staff & I love how flamboyant the colors are inside & out of the building. Will definitely be back for more Dave’s!!

This was a amazing place to pit stop from shopping, the decoration and overall feel of this restaurant was impeccable and I was impressed, the chicken was amazing and a worker named Erica and she was amazing at explaining the menu and her coworker Felicia did a great job at keeping the tables clean and handing out menus. 10/10 would recommend
