I was skeptical of eating here because it’s in Nebraska Furniture Mart. I figured it was just some plain Jane food court type place. Man was I wrong. The bbq is outrageously good! Their bbq beans are amazing and their sandwiches are huge and worth every penny. The kids meals are really big so if you have small kids, maybe have them split a meal. The kids meal was big enough to feed an adult! Don’t hesitate! It’s worth a visit!!

The Notorious P.I.G is more of an adventure than a pulled pork sandwich! Clear your schedule, grab some extra napkins and get ready. You will only be disappointed when it’s gone.
Plus, the smoked wings are some of the meatiest, most flavorful I’ve ever had.
Sauces are a nice twist on a classic without straying too far from KC roots, and the food comes out hot, fresh, and fast.
For portion size and quality prices are right where you’d expect them to be, though, maybe a touch high for an order-at-the-counter, and clear-your-own-place establishment. Does that stop me from going back? Of course not, it’s BBQ!

Posting menus and signage to help others, this location has all day happy hour on Fridays (not Thursdays like the main location). This worked out really nice for us since we planned mattress shopping around hearing the live music they have weekly on Fridays as well. Food wasn’t as good as the main location, burnt ends came out cold and the “buffalo wings” tasted nothing like buffalo, but it was overall fine. Their happy hour nachos are delicious and a steal. Limited bar with batch cocktails, but they were big (and strong).

Honestly, I was really looking forward to going here.. The other location in Shawnee is sooo excellent so, I finally decided to try this one!
At first glance, the food looked pretty good.. But then, I started to eat it.. And… Here we go folks…
We ordered a lunch rib tip plate with fries, an onion straw starter, and Brisket nachos..
1. The Onion Straw starter came out with the rest of the food.. It was BARELY done.. Straws were hot but, kinda soggy.. No honey mustard or other sauce was given.. It’s supposed to come with honey mustard standard.
2. The Lunch Rib Tip Platter was COLD! And when I say cold, let’s just say barely room temp.. The fries that came with were actually very good though..
3. The Brisket Nachos were more like regular nachos.. Of the little Brisket that was on there, the pieces were so small, you had to really look to see that there was meat on there.. Mostly crushed chips..
Very disappointed if anything, mostly because like I said, the location in Shawnee is so great! This is Kansas City! Bbq capital of the world! You would still think you were in Omaha at this location..

I wasn’t expecting much given the location, but this place definitely exceeded my expectations! The food is reasonably priced—just $10 for a sandwich and your choice of side. I highly recommend the mac & cheese. The portion sizes are spot-on for the price—they definitely don’t hold back. I also tried The Notorious P.I.G., and it was packed with flavor. A great find all around!

I wasn’t expecting much when coming to Blind Box BBQ. It is a little place located in a Nebraska Furniture Mart in the Legends area of KC. We were craving some BBQ and didn’t really have the time or energy to go to one of the places we have wanted to try. Saw this on the Googles and decided to give it a shot.
It was a lot better than I expected and if in the area again and didn’t want to leave the area, would definitely go again.
We had some burnt ends, brisket, ribs, mac and cheese, smoked potato salad, cornbread, fries, and onion straws.
The meats were good as were the couple sauces they had. I thought the mac and cheese was above average for restaurant mac and cheese. The smoked potato salad was really good. My wife loved the onion straws but did not like the cornbread. The kiddo really liked the cornbread and loved the ribs. She said they had hit the spot for the ribs she was craving.
Counter service was friendly and good!

We can’t wait to go back and enjoy this Gem! We had god service and really loved the patio. It was last Saturday night and we had a couple drinks there and an appetizer and then we shared a platter. It was really good and we got filled up.we package it up and then I made a Blind Box Omelette. Welcome the new manager Michael. He’s very excited to be working at the Blind Box. He is a great addition!! I know you won’t be disappointed ❤️ ❤️

It’s a great little spot for some BBQ if you are near legends. We wanted BBQ but didn’t want to travel too far from the hotel. We enjoyed the food and would definitely come back.
My only negative was the meat was a tad bit dry but nothing their BBQ sauce couldn’t help with.

Tried the burnt end chili for the first time last night and it was severely lacking. Not sure if it was a bad batch, but it was more of a oily soup consistency. Hardly any ingredients and they were all sitting at the bottom of the bowl. I was really hoping for a delicious, hearty bowl of chili, but this was not it, sadly.
On the plus side, the cornbread muffin, smoked wings, and fries were fantastic!

So nobody has ever recommended this spot to me. I’ve tried almost all KC spots & found this one on Google. They have 2 locations. I checked out this one for lunch and let me tell you, it was pretty good! The burnt ends were juicy and good. The Mac n cheese was good. But they had some cheesy corn that was incredible. The burnt end samwich was great and there was a sandwich I tried called the Notorious PIG. So good! I’d go back for sure!
