TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

My kids really enjoyed the food. There aren’t many options, but everything is made with chicken. For someone like me who doesn’t eat chicken, they have salad, fries, and mac and cheese. The place was very crowded and the noise level was high, so it was a bit hard to hear each other as a family. Service was fast — they took our order quickly and the food came out right away. The prices are average. They also offer takeout, and you can order online. It’s a place we can visit from time to time for a quick meal. Thank you.

On Route 18 westbound. There is sufficient parking for a dozen or so with handicapped parking for those in need.
Colorful signage with more inside that is inviting. Ample tables with chairs with plenty of space between tables. There is some background music of rock n roll favorites. You can still have a conversation without having to speak louder.
Ordered #3 – tenders, sandwich and fries. Soda was extra with free refills . I order the sandwich medium and tenders hot. We also ordered a mild sandwich.
My medium heat sandwich had heat which had enough heat. The sandwich came with slaw, pickles and Dave’s sauce. The was tasty. The color of the chicken appeared to be dark in color no matter between mild, medium and hot.
I believe the heat comes from the added seasoning after the chicken is fried. The chicken did taste a little salty depending on how hot..
Next the hot tenders came with a slice of white bread. You the plastic utensils or what I did picked up the tenders with a napkin. Your napkin will have a reddish absorption of seasoning. You don’t want it on your fingers and touching your face or eyes.
The like heat but preferred the medium, while the mild had a slight amount of seasoning. Dave’s sauce is a must and makes the crust of the chicken enjoyable.
Not a big menu items which limits your choices and makes it easier. Ordering is simple and you are given a beeper which lights up when your food is ready at the counter.
Inside was very clean as well as the bathrooms.
Prices were comparable with other chicken fast food chains.
Popeyes, Bojangles, Chik Filet Are still hard to beat. Dave’s Hot Chicken is unique where you have to have a craving for.

Good not great is the best way to describe this establishment. The chicken is cooked well but the seasoning gives off a funny smell. Some pieces of chicken are anything but breast. The cool dining room is fun but that’s about it.

The vibe is very chill. Lots of families dining in and plenty coming in for take out. The staff is really nice and patient considering the volume of customers they interact with and the pace at which they operate. Their food is consistent and always flavorful. Their reaper is no joke…. seriously watch out. My go to is their extra spicy… enjoy folks … oh and their strawberry shake… don’t think twice just go for it ! LoL
