TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I had a really disappointing experience at Dave’s Hot Chicken. I was excited to try it because I’ve heard so many good things, but my visit completely changed my opinion. The food took a long time to come out, and when I finally started eating, I noticed something hard in my meal.
When I looked closer, it appeared to be a small nail in the food. That was honestly shocking and pretty gross. Finding something like that in a meal is not only upsetting but also concerning for food safety. It immediately made me stop eating and lose my appetite.
On top of that, the staff didn’t seem very concerned when I mentioned it. I expected more urgency or at least an apology, but the response felt dismissive. Situations like this should be taken seriously.
Overall, this experience made me not want to come back. I hope the restaurant improves its food safety and quality control because something like this should never happen.

I got the 2 sliders w/ fries, one hot and one medium and everything, including fries came out fast anf piping hot and fresh.
Place was super clean.

HUGE portions on the sliders. The 8 choice of heat in the sauce is a little intimidating, but with 3 or 4 visits, you should narrow it down to your personal favorite. Also be careful. some things are advertised with similar products, there is an up charge that can sneak in if you are not paying attention.

This Dave’s is by far my favorite. The establishment is very clean and Arsan was so polite and very welcoming. We already planned on coming back, but Arsan made the experience that much better. Definitely recommend this location!

Seriously amazing food here! I dove into the #3 combo, and both the tender and slider were fantastic. The tender was cooked just right – super juicy with a nice little kick of spice. The slider – Wow! The hot spice level was so good, and the kale slaw actually worked perfectly with it (and I’m not even a kale person!). You definitely get your money’s worth with the generous portions and fair prices. Even though it was not packed, the service was still slow, and the staff were really on top of things and super busy.
No music or anything sort of entertainment system. Tables are dirty. I told the cashier to send someone to clean but nobody came.

Even though I’m not from the area, my friend and I had such a great experience at this store. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and positive. We were greeted by Elliot, who gave us such a warm and friendly welcome that it immediately set the tone for our visit.

By far the best Dave’s hot chicken I have been to. The chicken was cooked to perfection, served at the temperature that I prefer my food at.
The fries if they are not hot they don’t taste good – here fresh off the oil bath, crispy and well seasoned with salt and spices.

My family and I went while visiting. It was their first time having Dave’s Hot Chicken and they loved it! The service was good and the food, quality, and quantity were great.
They actually went again the next day. Highly recommend and will be back when in the area again
