TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

The cashier, Kai, was very sweet! Great customer service! They had good music playing too 🙂 I got the small top-loaded spicy buffalo Mac & cheese and it was made fresh and delicious. The small only came with 3 chicken bites, and I wish it would come with a larger meat-to-macaroni/fry ratio, like 5 chicken bites.

Insanely late to the hype, my wife and I decided to finally try Dave’s Hot Chicken. We collectively ordered 3 hot tenders and 1 extra hot slider. We can handle spice so we weren’t too worried.
The wait for our order was maybe 5 minutes and everything looked great! The hot was as advertised but the heat didn’t last, unlike the extra hot. The extra hot had the same inital heat but lingered after the meal on my lips and throat for a while after the meal, but I ORDERED IT so no complaints.
I see the hype to an extent; the tenders were huge and tasty and the fries were probably the best fries I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time, fast food or fancy establishment.
My biggest complaint is one that is probably common, the price. For essentially 4 tenders and some fries, we spent a little over $30. If it was $25 or under this would be an easy 5 stars, but I can’t justify spending that much for 4 tenders.
Lastly, I asked for water cups and the server said they were out, which may be a joke on customers coming into a spicy chicken establishment trying to get free relief from the spice, but again, I just spent $30 for 4 tenders, I don’t want to make it $40 just because we want some soda.

Araci is an absolute GEM!!! She was so kind and sweet to me and every single customer she helped. She made sure everyone got asked about Dave’s sauce, ketchup, or honey, and she was even recommending other great menu options to try. She was smiling the whole time and honestly made my day!! Her customer service is TOP TIER. You can tell she genuinely loves chatting and connecting with guests. Her vibe is EVERYTHING.

This was my first visit to this place, and I wasn’t sure what all the hype was about, but I have to say, it was pretty good! Honestly, it’s definitely an upgrade from Raising Cane’s, which is pretty standard fast food. I really appreciated that they offer different sauces here, and the chicken was full of flavor and nicely seasoned.

Went to Dave’s Hot on district Ave plenty time my last 2 visits have been awful & it’s with the same server yall Hispanic dude the first time he gave me the wrong food #280 was suppose to be a #2 fine today I walk in there at 11:30pm just for him to tell me I’m only able to get juice because they are close when the store said closing at midnight. Let’s not start trashing the nice things we have around here dude to bad services.

First time trying Dave’s. Always drove by it and been meaning to try. Chicken is really good. Spice levels are pretty accurate. Loveeee the sauce it comes with. Can’t go wrong here.

Dave’s did not disappoint!
The chicken was great and fresh, and the fries were crispy and tasted freshly fried! I get the #2, hot, and add plenty of honey to balance it out. The sliders may seem small but they are mighty and filling. Highly recommend! I’m also very happy to see that it’s halal.
The interior had cool art and was clean. The reason I gave 4 stars was because I was told the women’s bathroom wasn’t working, so I had to use the men’s. That led to an awkward interaction with some of the male workers in the back : /
Overall, I would come back for the food, and I hope their bathroom is fixed!

Great sandwich. Definitely not the biggest but for sure tasty. The place was busy, waited about 3 minutes in line and about 5 minutes to get the food. Was expecting it to take a lot longer but they move fast ! French frys are delicious along with their milkshakes. You can add Oreo or M&M if you’d like. Will come back
