I’ve been here before for a bachelorette party and it was amazing! Came back and sat at the bar with a friend and had some happy hour. Caccio a Pepe they even have gluten-free pasta you can substitute in which is delicious! I had a really good limoncello mojito (ask for extra mint!) my friend had the delicious looking tiramisu and giant Nonna’s meatballs. There were a ton of people watching a football game while we were there. Very lively! Once they left it was a nice calm atmosphere. They also have a really beautiful patio in the back with lights and dogs are allowed. Next time I want to try the polenta with whipped mascarpone and ragu 🙂 Would definitely recommend and come again!

Came on a Sunday evening as a party of 7. We ordered two cacio e pepe’s, two gnocchi’s, two focaccia’s (their signature dish), butternut squash salad, and brussel sprouts for seven girls and was the perfect amount of food. The brussel sprouts dish was my favorite and packed with flavor and textures. The focaccia di recco was also such a delightful sweet and savory combination. The pastas were each yummy but nothing mind blowing.

My husband and I were recently there for their Sunday Mimosa bar. It was surprisingly better than expected! We received full glasses of Prosecco and then guided to the bar to add our goodies. We loved being able to add our own fruit & different juices. We also enjoyed a super delicious pizza! We were there early in the day so we weren’t too hungry- which disappointed us because all the food looked amazing! Our waiter, Reggie, was super nice & made our visit! A definite MUST, when in San Diego!

A friend who lives in the area highly recommended Davanti, and it was a great choice. Even in January, we were able to sit outside comfortably thanks to the mild weather and a heater at the table.

We ordered spritzes from the happy hour menu (pomegranate and elderberry), both light, crisp, and refreshing. I had the risotto carbonara, which was rich, creamy, and satisfying. Friendly service and a really enjoyable evening overall.

Best Italian restaurant in little Italy! Our waiter was David S who knew the menu very well and every recommendation was spot on. Butter naught squash salad was the best salad I’ve ever had!!!!!!!!!! The cacio e Pepe wa good except the chicken was not as moist as I would expect. And they have 20% military discount!! WE WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK AND BEING OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY!

My husband and I went for appetizers and drinks, we had calamari fritti and meatballs, husband had beers and I had a Paloma and a Margarita, I like fresh drinks more than sweet then the Paloma was better for me.
The meatballs were kind of cold by the time we got them, taste wasn’t bad but I like hot food hot, the calamari was good.
The service was very good, Alex was very kind and the atmosphere was nice.

Made a reservation about a week in advance for a Friday at 6:30 with 8 guests. Restaurant was fairly busy and did seem to have a wait at the door.

Seated on the back patio – lovely art/murals and atmosphere.

Everyone enjoyed their dishes:

-Focaccia with Honey (good)
-Cacio e Pepe (good)
-Carbonara Risotto (good)
-Wedge Salad (fairly small)
-Rigatoni Vodka (good)
-Burger (delicious!)
-Carajillo (decent)

Also an affordable and cheap lunch spot.
On weekdays there is a lunch menu with paninis and other lighter options. I ordered a delicious meatball sandwich with a refreshing salad, and was out of there quickly and for under $20. My only slight complaint would be service attentiveness, but the servers were so friendly.
Davanti Enoteca is a solid dinner spot, and you should check it out for a weekday lunch also.

If you’re looking for a fantastic spot for happy hour, this Italian restaurant is a must-try! They offer happy hour daily from 3 pm to 6 pm (excluding holidays), and the deals are hard to beat. The drink specials include $5 beers, $6 wines by the glass, and $9 gin or vodka martinis—perfect for anyone who loves a good dirty martini with blue cheese-stuffed olives, like I do!

The happy hour food menu is equally impressive, featuring delicious options like the meatballs, Roman artichokes, pizza of the day, and the Davanti Burger. I’ve tried them all, and they’re all worth recommending. It’s a great spot for a casual hangout with excellent drinks and food to match. Highly recommend stopping by!
