Used to stay on Beckwith and was in the old “hood”
I can’t express how disappointed I was today.
The food was barely decent… I haven’t been here in so long and was excited to see I made it before they closed today. 4-19-2024 4:15 p.m.
I ordered the stew chicken with kale…
The kale was EXTREMELY salty, like choked me and I had to spit it out…
The chicken was decent, but it wasn’t brown stewed Jamaican chicken…
The gravy was watery and lacked color and flavor.
Ahhh the rice… smh the rice…
It definitely wasn’t rice and peas… more like minute rice with TWO canned red/kidney beans.
As someone that has been going since they opened… lived walking distance it’s really sad to see the results of today.
I doubt I’ll be returning.

Thank you for visiting our workplace today. It was a pleasure meeting you. The food was super flavorful. I will definitely search your location outside of the workplace. Excellent prep time and customer service. I had the Jerk Salmon plate with Rice and Peas/Cabbage. It was so good I had to get a plate for hubby. Blessings and light.

Went 2/4/17: DAT Fire Jerk Chicken is a small whole in the wall joint serving real deal Jamaican dishes. They have a full diverse Caribbean Jamaican menu. It’s located in a prime location blocks from new stadium. The service was great and friendly. I loved the music while you wait. And they cooking on that barrel grill and the smoke flavor is all throughout the jerk dishes ribs and chicken. The food was juicy, flavorful, and not too spicy; I even added more jerk sauce and BBQ sauce to the ribs. The curry was great too. No complaints here (maybe the very limited parking lot), but hey that’s life. Its off the beaten path, which I always love local spots that’s not tourist centric.

The food is AMAZING! I had the oxtailwith peas and rice. I was extremely satisfied! The food is seasoned well and comes out piping hot and fully flavor! There’s usually a wait here. I’d highly recommend calling in advance to place your order to cut the wait time down.

I was so sad that oxtails weren’t available the day I went, however, my brother and I LOVED the brown stew chicken. The chicken was so tender and flavorful. We got kale for the side and it was also really delicious. I thought the jerk chicken was okay, but my husband really liked it. The cabbage was amazing, though. They definitely know their flavors here.
Definitely want to go back for oxtails. Highly recommend calling before stopping by. They were also out of jerk pork too.
Overall, a great experience. We will be back.

Delicious food if you’re on the go and need that Jamaican taste. It is small, black owned local business. No inside seating, enough outdoor seats for maybe 5-6 people. I ordered the small Curry chicken. The order came with cabbage salad, rice & peas and plantain. Cost about 9.75 before tax and tip. I also grabbed a handmade juice drink from their fridge. That cost $4 before tax and tip. I would recommend this for the working professional who had a craving for some homemade coming.

I would not say that the jerk chicken here is fire. It’s more like it’s like warm. I only had the chicken so I can’t speak for any of the other food, but for “fire jerk chicken” to be in the name of the restaurant that chicken was very underwhelming. I wasn’t impressed. The service was great next time im in Atlanta I’ll try something else on the menu.

The attitudes were sour and the food was disappointing plus way overpriced. Karma: The owner was on the news saying he “accidentally” burned his handed down Jamaican family legacy restaurant to the ground, no insurance for accidents. If the owner is not smart enough to put out a fire he’s not qualified to cook my food. Now he figuring it out on a food truck. Be kind to people and karma will be kind to you.

Dat Fire is a small place where you put in your order, but they have a seating area upstairs. I put in an order to-go so I didn’t take a look at the seating area. They have a tiny parking lot.
I got jerk chicken with collards for my hubby and ox tails with collards for me. The jerk chicken was very tasty all loaded into one foul container with peas and rice, collards and plantains. The ox tails were okay.

So I just found this new place over the weekend and today was my second time going the first time I went was literally just for the kids but I finally went there to get me a plate of food, which I ordered the jerk pork rice and peas with oxtail gravy. Now my food was pretty good until I ate enough of the rice to see the bottom of it which had a layer of grease under my rice which I believe it came from the oxtail gravy but it completely turned me off. The cabbage was definitely different. But to be honest I did like it I don’t know what it is with Caribbean restaurants, but the females that work behind the counter always seem to have an attitude. I said hello to the girl before she started my order because I’m just a happy nice person but she didn’t even say anything back to me. Which was rude as hell.. But I will return more than likely to get something else. That don’t contain any Grease…
