I recently dined at this remarkable Persian restaurant in California, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting ambiance. Sohaila was our waitress she was so nice and helpful.

It’s an okay restaurant but the kebabs are nothing like you find in the Middle East. I have yet to find somewhere in California that is truly authentic.

“If you’re looking for a unique dining experience with delicious Persian food, look no further than Darya! The live music adds a fun and energetic atmosphere to the restaurant, making it a great place to celebrate special occasions or just enjoy a night out. The food is definitely worth the higher price tag – every dish is expertly prepared and full of flavor. I highly recommend trying the juicy kebabs and the rich stews. Overall, Darya is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in delicious food and great music!”

Friendly staff, great environment. But the food did not match the status of the restaurant. Especially the Koobide didn’t taste right. It tasted weird and not at all how koobide was supposed to taste. The tahdig and Mast Mousir were good but the rest of the food we ordered were plain average (chenge, Jooje, cheesecake, etc.)

Ordered takeout and did not check the food out until got home only to find out koobideh was all broken up and not well done as ordered like it was picked up from the floor, barg also looking horrible like koobideh, shocked the hell out of me from a well known persian resturant specially towards a regular customer. Lesson learned, check your take out order before you leave Darya.

My favorite was the kashkeh bademjan and would definitely come back for that. Pretty good Fesenjoon and must o musir too. Dough was ok. Excellent service.

My husband wanted Persian food and we decided to try this one right by south coast plaza. We order kebob with rice and a special chicken with darya sauce. I didn’t know how it was supposed to cook or taste like but my husband who is Mediterranean said the food was mediocre at best. Also, the restaurant kept dimming and brightening their light repeated in the duration of our meal. The service was very personal and friendly.
