Was able to get into the hibachi without a reservation and get seated quickly. Obtain 2 drinks at the bar while we waited. Staff was nice throughout. Got to our seats and the chef was funny and entertaining while cooking the meal. General manager was nice and greeted us. At the entrance. The food was wonderful.

Great restaurant for a special occasion or if you just want something fun and different and an experience with your meal! You should call ahead if you are booking a hibachi table as they fill up fast especially on weekend and I’ve seen people complaining about the fact that they don’t offer hibachi to be served to regular tables… and that should be obvious because you’re paying for the meal and experience of the hibachi chef
Our chef was nice and made us laugh and he flipped shrimp to all of us and even got my husband to interact in a few parts which was great as it was my husbands idea to try the hibachi place! This was my first hibachi experience and it was very enjoyable, I loved the banana split martini it was delicious and so was the lychee Martini! All hibachi items were great and my sister in law said her jalapeño tuna sushi was very tasty too! I would try this place again and my family said it was their second time eating there and we would also try their other location! It is a bit pricey but it was a nice once in a while experience and the koi pond at the front and interiors bring a nice atmosphere to your dining experience!

First time to this location and restaurant. Never seen so many people filing in at 5:00 on a Saturday. They definitely get a crowd! Make a reservation you all!! The atmosphere was really nice. The serving staff was wonderful and so was the chef! Could not say enough good things about that. My only issue is unfortunately I’m allergic to seafood and they wouldn’t separate my food to the side of grill so they had to cook it in the back. Which I get and I understand however for what I ordered and what came out was a major disappointment. The presentation was nice and it was good! But the vegetables could have used some help and the portion size to what you get from the kitchen versus what’s cooked in front of you is NOT worth the price. So I was disappointed in that aspect.

Enjoyed a private Hibachi dinner with 50 women on a recent Wed night. We had our own private room of 4 tables. We were pretty squished – my table alone had 11 people! They have a HH but it was very difficult to get a drink as there was only 1 bartender. They knew in advance of our large party & brought in extra chefs because of it. Wish they had thought of putting another bartender on as we were all ordering multiple martini’s, etc. At the table, we got soup & salad to start & then later our food. It came with the shrimp app which is really like 2 tiny shrimp cut up. The rest of my meal was shrimp (again) which were very tasty but again, small, veggies, & I upgraded to the fried rice ($2.50). It was all good & a nice portion. They even had a piano player there which added to the ambiance. I would definitely go there again!

We had dinner there two nights ago and it was a fiasco. I asked the server up front if they could accommodate my no salt diet and he immediately said “sure” they would cook my dinner in the kitchen. When the chef came he gave me soup full of soup and when I questioned it, he said he knew nothing of my no salt requirement. Meanwhile, the Hibachi was full of soy sauce and lots of added salt–not good for anyone. He went on to prepare the meal for everyone else. As people were being served I asked our server/waiter about my dinner and he told me the kitchen was “backed-up”. No, they could not make my dinner. I sat there as everyone else ate. When I asked the server to take my meal off of the check he said he would. No apology. He did not ask me if I would like something else. If I had known they could not handle a no salt diet I would have ordered Sushi instead. My grandson was very upset since the dinner was for his birthday and the whole thing was a “bust”. I tried to talk to the Manager who was rude and said they were “too busy and could not handle all of the orders”. Again, no apology–no offer of a rain-check- nothing. As we left the waiter came out screaming at us saying he was going to have to pay for my meal. Really???? My meal that I never received. We will NEVER go back and urge other to go elsewhere to be assured of a fun and nutritious experience where they are not subjected to excess sodium and rudeness.

I was very impressed with everything about DaRuMa restaurant. We went there for my birthday this past weekend. Seated quickly with reservations. Our server Gina was terrific. Miso soup was brought to us. Very good though I did remove the mushrooms. The salad was next which was also very good. The hibachi chef really puts on quite an enjoyable show. Right down to the colored flash lights with the flaming volcano! All dinners come with shrimp and mixed vegetables. I got the sea scallops which were delicious and they give you twelve of them! The meal was so big I took it home for supper the following night. I did have the birthday dessert which comes with a chefs hat, fan, birthday rubber ducky and mints. The dessert was a warm chocolate volcano mini bundt cake with vanilla ice cream which I shared. We finished the night at the piano bar. Rufus the piano player played a number of our requests. He was great. I highly recommend going here for your celebration.

I made Valentine reservations for my daughters and myself tonight and we got there and the chef and the actual food he cooked was phenomenal the server and his service were absolutely terrible as the chef is walking away pretty much the ladies that bring the to-go boxes were already at our table which we barely had eaten any of their meats wanting to give us to go boxes and then within a few seconds of that the server came back and offered the whole table dessert and we asked for hot tea he finally brought hot tea and said we couldn’t have dessert at the table tonight that we had to go sit at another table at the piano bar. For the $170 dinner we should be able to have dessert at the table. Valentine’s Day is kind of known for chocolate and desserts very disappointing.

Daruma comes off as a high end resturant at first glance. And it is beautiful inside. However, unlike most Japanese steak houses, you can not get Hibachi at a table. Their excuse is the chefs are so highly trained that they must be observed to eat the food. You will not find this out until you get to your table and order drinks, and then the menu arrives and at the bottom it will state that you can not order the primary thing people come to a Japanese steak house for. At this point you are already committed to the experience because you have drinks…. and not wanting to ruin the evening you assume the other dishes will be good.
I ordered filet minon and scallops. Needless to say it was the worst filet minon I have had. I ordered it med rare. It arrived in a soup of very sweet teriyaki sauce. You could not taste the meat, much less tell if it was rare as it was dripping in sauce. The scallops were equally drenched in a Miso sauce soup that was exceptionally sweet. The broccolli was flavorless, as was the rice. My sister ordered tempura shrimp, it arrived by itself with nothing. Everyone at our table… there were four of us….. were unhappy with their food. I actually could not tell you what one of my sisters ordered, but it looked like a vegetable medly covered in Miso sauce which she felt was way too sweet. Everyone thought the food was way too sweet and covered in sauces that killed any flavor of the main ingredient.
Add to this the prices are substancially higher than a typical steak house. Learn from our mistake. For such an expensive dinner, you expect certain qulaity. We did not find it at Daruma.

I never like to leave a bad review ever but honestly so disappointed so I gotta. We went with a big group for our friends birthday. From the minute we walk in, we aren’t greeted, it seemed like an inconvenience to the old rude woman at the host stand. As someone who works in the restaurant industry, it’s common knowledge to have a friendly person greet you. We were supposed to have 20 but 3 had to cancel due to an emergency because life happens. We got sat at 7:40 while our reservation was at 7:30 because a few friends were running late due to traffic. It happens. I got there at 7:15, sat at the bar and that was the only good experience. The young lady who was bartending was so sweet and made an amazing martini. I wish I got her name but she was the star of the night and we only got served by her briefly. The server was okay, she kept missing peoples drinks, extra sides, soups, and salads. The bussers would not let us finish our food, just hovering over us and taking peoples plates before they finished. Also the time is only 8:45, they are open until 10. What is the rush? You guys are open for 5 hours… that is such a short shift. Our chef was so boring and didn’t care to make the birthday girl laugh or have fun. Thankfully we’re a fun group because he gave us nothing. Food was decent but not nearly as good as the Daruma in The Landings. Please go to that one, this location needs to get a new staff or retrained. End of dinner is coming out and it is 9:20, we’re trying to say bye and gather our stuff, we look around and the ENTIRE staff is staring and just watching us… you guys literally still have 40 mins to work. I understand wanting to close early but we paid good money so maybe stop breathing down our necks? Overall, don’t go to this location, save yourself the time and check out the one in the Landings and request Dom.

Great food as always. Love this place. We come once every couple months. This was the first time we came ans had horrible service not only did it take forever, we wanted dessert and thr guy didnt come back to ask us, just brought the check. So we ordered dessert and once we got it the manager came over and asked us to leave because they needed the hibachi table.
Not the best experience and kinda disappointed that they did that.
