This is a very nice place to get some delicious food! Love the historic building and the history here. A must stop and only less than a few minutes from I-10. I had the “Chicken Fried Steak ‘N Eggs” and loved it! My wife had their “Chris’ Omelette” which she enjoyed. Coffee was good too! They have a little gift shop connected to the restaurant which has some very nice things in there.

This is an awesome small town dinner with great food! We had breakfast and the chicken fried steak was big, crispy and cooked just right. The eggs were cooked perfectly, which is a hard thing to do when you get sunny side up. The hash browns, burger and fries were good too. The staff was incredibly friendly too. Also it’s pretty cool you can get breakfast or lunch all day.

Great spot on the way from San Antonio to Houston. Less than a mile off I-10. Great breakfast/lunch spot. Super nice staff and food was top notch and wife loved her Mimosa! Highly recommend.

A little pricey, but good. Not what I was expecting.
Not home cooking or really comfort food or especially healthy.
Good large hamburger . “Chikie” tenders heavily breaded. French fries from frozen. Breakfast menu looked good. But migas more scrabled egg over a few tortilla small strips. Not migas. Salsa cold mushed tomatoes.
Tea cloudy and tasted old.
Waitress very pleasant.
You order at counter and are asked to tip before you leave. I like to tip after service so zI know how much to tip.

Worth getting off the interstate! Great food! Great service! Our dog was invited in & loved every second of this privilege!

Our pancakes, avacado toast, and extras were super tasty!

The history & fun ways to get discounts kept us entertained! And, our fly catcher got a discount for next time we are in town!

Wife and I took a weekend trip to San Antone and New Braunfels to hit up tiki bars. This morning we were discussing where to have breakfast and she mentioned this cute café about 1/2 way back. Sounds good to me.

We pull up and have primo parking right in front of the doors. I don’t know what else happens in this tiny town but this place was about 1/2 full around 930am.

Our server was prompt and checked in on us several times. Food portions were above average in volume and really hit the spot.

This will now be a stopping point as we head home. Great little place. Gig’em.

It’s my fault for getting used to fast food breakfasts. Forgot what home cooked biscuits-n-gravy should taste like. Will return again with dreams of eating all 20 pancakes. Only hiccup was a missed opportunity to keep the coffee cup full. Saw my name tag on the restroom door in cursive (for those of you who cant read, it doesn’t matter) and just wondered if they were expecting me.

Wanted to find a brunch place in this small town my significant other and I went to. Found this place and missed brunch aw 5 minutes. We decided to still order something. I got a turkey wrap but as you can see there wasn’t anything in the wrap. More bread than anything. My other got a burger, egg pie (I think that’s what it’s called), and fries. He only liked the fries. The Macha fries were the best thing we ate here. Macha and had coffee for drinks. The drinks were great. I would love to give this place a second chance and try the brunch next time we decide to stay in town.

Every else was fine. Wait staff, very clean and nice atmosphere.

I usually go for the pancakes but today I was feeling a little adventurous. The avocado toast is my new favorite breakfast item! I had fresh fruit instead of the hashbrowns and it was amazing. 10/10 as always. Darlin’s does not disappoint!

Took a short drive to get some lunch and look around town.

I like the look of the place. Especially the black and white pictures that line the walls. It tells of another time in the world. I truly enjoyed them.

I was seated at the counter as the place was busy but not packed. I waited for quite a bit of time before someone came to take my drink and food order.

My food came out looking great. The fries were fantastic. I truly enjoyed them. The burger was good. It could have been better. There seemed to be no seasoning on the meat. I tried it by itself several times and nothing.

There is also a little shop to take a look at while you are waiting on your food or after.
