I had breakfast at Darling Rooftop during my stay at Park Lane Hotel in New York City. The view overlooking Central Park from the 47th floor is absolutely stunning and easily the highlight of the experience. The setting alone makes it memorable.
Breakfast is continental style with pastries, bagels, croissants, spreads, eggs, bacon, chicken sausage, potatoes, fresh fruit, yogurt, juices, coffee, and mini bottles of champagne for mimosas. The fresh fruit was excellent the strawberries, cantaloupe, and melon were consistently fresh and flavorful. The miniature champagne bottles for mimosas were also a nice touch, and I appreciated the bottled still and sparkling water options.
That said, the food quality was mixed. The eggs were honestly disappointing and tasted processed, almost like powdered or pre-made eggs. I wasn’t a fan of the chicken sausage either. The bacon was thick and crispy, though quite oily. The potatoes were my favorite item and consistently good each morning.
There was an assortment of yogurt available, but no non-dairy options, which would have been a nice addition.
The staff truly stood out. Betty and the team were warm, welcoming, and attentive every day. Their service added a personal and positive touch to the experience.
Breakfast was included with my stay through American Express Travel using my Business Platinum card. While I appreciated having it included, if I were paying separately, I’m not sure I would consider it worth the price on its own. That said, the view and service make it enjoyable as part of the overall stay. Park Lane is not an inexpensive hotel, my nightly rate averaged around $500, so expectations are naturally higher.
Overall, the view and staff make Darling Rooftop worth experiencing, but there is room for improvement when it comes to the food quality.

We made a reservation. We came for the views which were amazing! Our server was amazing, Noe, and he was so patient with us with our drink orders and went above and beyond by explaining the views and drink menu for us. We ordered drinks and I enjoyed my whiskey drink pictures but my friends ordered vodka drinks with blue curacao and they said it was too tart. We definitely came for the views, we had dinner before so we did not order any food here.

Darling has officially become one of my absolute favorite NYC rooftops. From the moment you step out of the elevators, you’re immersed in a ‘Darling’ world where you truly feel on top of the world. The view of Central Park is the most beautiful and immaculate view I’ve ever seen in the city and I’ve been here for several years. The cocktails are delicious with service being consistently prompt and excellent. The hostesses are inviting and welcoming which enhance the full experience. Their newly created Sunday evening sunset parties with Caché Life (@cachelife) have truly livened up the venue with added music and charm with live art displays. The food is typical but fancy bar bites. I’m shocked to see poor reviews based on prices and table views. For a venue on Central Park South in a literal penthouse, this is everything and more for your next night out. Highly suggest getting there for sunset. It’s a perfect date night spot and truly look forward to visiting many more times.
Ps. Ask the manager to hear about the history of the venue, it’s amazing.

The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. What made the experience even more special was the outstanding service. Joseph and the entire team took exceptional care of us from start to finish, making us feel genuinely welcomed and valued.
We had a fantastic time and will definitely be returning soon. Highly recommended!

This view and space is amazing!!! We had delicious drinks too! The menu is limited but has some tasty options. We initially sat at the bar until a table opened up. The crowd was mature, chic and lively. Once the dj hit, I was surprised and delighted. She really shifted the atmosphere. It was not a party but you could dance.

It’s a place you can come just for the Central Park view. The food you eat is overly, overly expensive. You actually pay money but for a tiny bite, so it’s definitely not worth it. The employees don’t care about you that much. In other words, you’re literally looking them in the eye to make them come, I definitely had a bad experience. I don’t think I’ll come again. But the view was good, so it wouldn’t be wrong to say that it’s a rooftop that makes up for everything else with its location, but thanks anyway.

Located atop the Park Lane Hotel, Darling is famed for its stunning views of Central Park. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t play nice during my visit, so that scenic vista was somewhat elusive.
The atmosphere is undeniably charming, with cute vibes and equally adorable cocktails to match. My friends ordered the Black Mirror, which added a playful, edgy twist to our experience. It’s worth checking out the photos for a laugh!
As for the food, it was a mixed bag. The tonkatsu sliders left me underwhelmed with their dryness, and the Wagyu beef skewers were sadly overcooked. However, the arancini was a standout favorite, delivering on flavor and texture.
Service was attentive and added to the pleasantness of the experience. Despite the culinary hiccups and lack of views due to the weather, I’m eager to return when the sun shines. The potential for soaking in those famed views on a clear day is reason enough for a revisit!

Stumbled up in here by accident. The place has a stunning view of Central Park and gets very nice natural light. MIKE was my bartender and he was superb. Attentive, chill, skilled at what he does and just a cool guy. The ambience is nice and I definitely will be coming back here.

Had such a good time at Darling Rooftop. The vibe was super chill but still had a fun energy to it. The view alone is worth going for seriously, it’s one of those spots where you just want to stay and hang out for hours. Drinks were great (definitely try one of their signature cocktails), and the staff was really friendly and on it. Perfect place to grab a drink with friends or start off a night out. Will definitely be going back.

Yesterday, my girlfriend and I visited a beautiful rooftop with an unbelievable view. The service was excellent — from the lovely host to the friendly waiters. In the evening, the music started, adding to the perfect atmosphere. If you have someone visiting the city and want to impress them with a stunning view, this is definitely the place to go!
