Dark Horse Tavern in Massapequa Park is the place to go for solid food and standout service. Our server, Regina, was excellent! Friendly, attentive, and easy to talk to. She made us feel comfortable right away, almost like regulars in a neighborhood spot. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth a visit.

Only go here if you want to drink at the bar. Had dinner here with another couple sat down in the back. The service was horrible. The waitress clearly couldn’t understand anything we wanted. My wife’s dinner was messed up three times and it was a simple order All it was was a bowl of soup. They brought out the wrong soup twice in a cup and the third time when they finally got it right, it was still in a cup. The pulled pork and the short rib tasted like they were cooked in a bag and then spooned on to the sandwich When I asked the manager for the bill so we can leave she came over and threw the Bill on the table and walked away. Didn’t even care to ask what was wrong

Just had the BEST experience at dark horse tavern in Massapequa! Our waitress Kathleen was truly amazing- best we’ve ever had. She was extremely attentive, super sweet & made our night out so much fun!
I came with some friends out of town to share some apps and drinks. Great spot to catch up! I had their espresso martini which was made to perfection (and I’m a hard critic with those). Everything was perfect! Highly recommend going & requesting Kathleen! She’ll make your dining seamless!

Honestly, we went there because Jam was just filled up, we look for a place close by and this is what we found. It wasn’t a bad place. Good food kids enjoyed.

The wings were good so we ordered more food. The rest of the food was below average at best. The nachos were fast food quality; completely soggy by the end. A few olives had pits in them. The French onion burger was bland and lacked any flavor.
Come here for some drinks and live music, not for the food.

We have visited the Dark Horse Tavern in Massapequa Park several times for dinner. The food is delicious. We have ordered many of their food items from appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, wings to desserts and it is always fresh and delicious. It has always been an amazing experience from food and drinks to the wait staff. We recently had our soon to be daughter-in-law’s bridal shower there and again they did not disappoint. We decided on a brunch shower which had a variety of food options and drinks to choose from. Victoria and Nicole worked so hard from the set-up, service and clean up and we really appreciate all their hard work. Highly recommend for lunch, dinner or any type of party. Thank you again!

My husband and I have come to Dark Horse in Massapequa many times and have always had a great experience. The food is delicious and our usual server, Mike, is always a pleasure. However, we were extremely disappointed in our experience tonight. Our waitress, Ari A. forgot to order our appetizers so we never received them (which is fine, but she didn’t even apologize). She then proceeded to sit at the bar and watch tv and never checked on us, brought us water, or refilled our drinks. We were the only table in the restaurant and were completely neglected. The food was good, but we were extremely disappointed in our service and lack of care that we received.
