My wife, son and I had a good experience dining for the first time at Dario’s…one of a handful of family owned one-off restaurants in Santa Clarita that we’ve been slowly making our way through. We all love Mexican food, and my son and I are vegetarian so it comes down to whether we have options to choose from. We did! Our server was also knowledgeable in terms of what and wasn’t vegetarian which was helpful. (ie their regular refried beans and rice are both not vegetarian, but they offer black beans and a white rice which are.)
I had potato tacos. I mean vegetarian or not you can’t go wrong with a fried taco filled with potatoes. They were good and the vegetarian rice also had some flavor to it which I appreciated.
I also had a mezcal margarita which looked beautiful and tasted good too.
We were seated quickly for a crowded Friday night with other people waiting as well.
There are a lot of classic Mexican food options for vegetarians.
We appreciated the dark vibe and decor as well which made us feel we were dining in a nice place in a sea of fast food and fresh-Mex places that are good, but don’t give as nice a ‘dining out’ vibe as Dario’s did.

We stopped by this little hole in the wall by the gas station. Oh my God! It was fabulous. From the chips and salsa, to the guacamole and mole sauce. It was fabulous. The skinny margaritas were great. More than great. And the deep fried ice cream was a great finish. We will recommend to our friends and family. And we will be back!

WOW! Absolutely incredible experience at Dario’s Mexican in Newhall! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and authentic. Abel, Julia and Omar went above and beyond to make us feel right at home their attention to detail (remembering what I like), friendly personalities and genuine hospitality made the meal unforgettable.
The food is authentically Mexican, rich in flavor, and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried had depth you can tell they really care about quality and the overall experience. I leave every time feeling excited to come back!!!

Decent food but the fish taco and chile relleno and beef taco tasted a bit bland in my opinion, good margaritas, chips and salsa. The rice and beans where probably my favorite and had lots of nice flavor. I would go back but I am not a fan that the restaurant is right next to a gas station and parking is limited. It feels like you are walking into a convenience store when you pull up.

OK, I don’t know how this place doesn’t have five stars? My wife and I visited yesterday for the first time and can I just say that this place is the best Mexican food we have tried in all of Santa Clarita Valley. The staff is super friendly and attentive, and the place is dimly lit with candles and Christmas lights, which I absolutely love. They do have a patio area as well. We opted for the Mulcajete to share And can I just say this was the best Mulcajete I have ever had and that is saying a lot because I have had plenty. Every bite was exploding with flavor, even down to the sauce they use And I loved how they gave us our own rice and beans plates not like other restaurants how they give you one plate to share this place is not stingy by any means and might I add…. endless chips and salsa!! The drinks were fantastic too! If you stop in share the Mulcajete.. so much even enough to take home! We walked out of there wanting to come back the next day! It’s that’s good!

We ate at Dario’s today and the food was great!!! It was fresh! This place can be a hit or miss depending on time, but today it was a HIT! My boyfriend who is a Chef gave them a 9 of 10! The green enchilada was delicious as well as the huevos omelette!

Came for happy hour and the $5 schooner is a good price. I had chicken flatas which are crunchy and filling. Small bar area, rustic building friendly service.
