Dara Thai Express offers a delightful dining experience marked by flavorful dishes, attentive service, and a warm, inviting ambiance. The pork gyoza arrived perfectly crisp and fresh, while the fries were exceptionally well executed—golden and crunchy on the outside, soft and tender within. The crispy fried tofu was another standout, beautifully fried and wonderfully satisfying.

The Pad See Ew carried good flavor, though it leaned more toward a pepper-forward profile than the traditional sauce, yet remained enjoyable and well prepared. Both the peach tea with boba and the strawberry tea with boba were impeccably balanced, offering refreshing sweetness without ever becoming overpowering.

Overall, Dara Thai Express delivers quality food and a pleasant atmosphere.

I ordered champon, but instead of ramen noodles, it came with what seemed like rice noodles.
The orange chicken didn’t really taste like chicken, the pieces were too small and difficult to eat, and the flavor was just overly sweet. Overall, it was not good at all.
I strongly believe this needs improvement. This was one of the worst meals I’ve had in a long time, and I was very disappointed.

Do yourself a favor and don’t go there if you value a good meal. The service was below mid and so was the food. We left more than 50% of our food untouched.

Let’s start with the wait. We, a party of 3, waited for about twenty minutes with 4 similarly sized parties ahead of us while there were continuously 4-6 empty tables (reservations? Didn’t see any). Highly inefficient. And then the food. My mom ordered green curry, which came out no greener than a chessboard, was overly sour and salty, and left a repugnant aftertaste. The woonsen soup was not actively bad tasting but not inviting either; it was just there. The drunken noodles were overall just about ok (but it was a personally delicious dish done poorly). Not worth the wait and $60+ without tips.

Service was amazing, and they had many vegetarian and vegan options for us as well. While we didnt get to try the mochi ice cream as it was out, the red curry and vegetarian sushi was something to stand out for. The waiters were really nice everything was up to amazing standard. Well done Dara Thai!

Vegetarian reviewer:
I ordered a Thai basil fried rice. I specifically didn’t order from the other Thai restaurant nearby coz I like my fried rice to not have eggs. I was pretty excited, paid ~ $22 for this meal (added extra tofu). However, this place was nothing but disappointment for the price and quality. The food tasted fine – but it was extremely greasy (understand it is fried rice, but still). Less veggies and there were like two basil leaves – basically not what one would expect.

Well, now comes the packaging, for this premium price why would you not pack it in a compostable box, but a styrofoam box with foil paper in it. I was not happy with the wastage created – also a compostable box would have absorbed some oil which would have helped me and this review. Unfortunately, I would only probably not recommend this place so much, if you’re looking for worth of your money and healthy or wholesome options.

Otherwise, this restaurant is conveniently located in the downtown / restaurant / shopping area. Plenty of parking spots and pretty close to Horseshoe bend (one of my favorites from the trip 🙂 )

I normally don’t go to a restaurant that has less than 4 stars rating. I was hungry after hiking and just picked a random Thai restaurant in town. The restaurant was clean and had a basic decor. The staff were friendly. I ordered my typical Thai dishes of drunken noodles, and Tom yum soup for dinner. The dishes looked like what I ordered, but the taste was off. They were extremely salty. I told the waitress the issue, and she took the food back. She brought back those 2 dishes in less than 5 minutes. The drunken noodles were tasteless with zero salt, and the soup tasted like beef water. I decided not to raise any more issues and paid $30 for the food. I don’t think they know how to cook Thai food.

Decent lunch place for a quick bite. The food is not very spicy, the 4 was quite mild and even a 5 seafood wasn’t that spicy. The kids liked the noodle woks. The salad bar was simple but fresh and the dressings good. An 18% service charge is included in the price.

Great service. Friendly staff. Food was okay. Not special. Price level was accordingly. It’s not a cosy restaurant. In general it was good. I ordered the green curry with beef.
