Best pho I’ve had in St. Louis by far! Broth tasted amazing, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. Meat was tasty as well. We also got the clay pot pork; would highly recommend. Egg rolls were good too although a little expensive; you get 4 medium sized rolls for $12. The waitress was nice and got our orders and food out quickly so we appreciated the service as well. The interior and decorations create a nice ambiance. We will definitely be back!

This place is legit! I ordered the comb pho and the combo bun. The broth was amazing. Super beefy, meaty and lots of noodles. Totally hit the spot. I took the comb bun to go and the meat was perfect and not too salty. I also grabbed me a iced coffee. I would come back again for round 2! Shoutout to my waitress Jazmin for being super attentive and helpful!

Wow! First time in St. Louis and I think I may have found my favorite Vietnamese restaurant here! Great ambiance! The pho was the PERFECT level of spice (I like it hot). The coffee was also phenomenal. Most importantly, exceptional customer service! Hands down the best! You won’t be disappointed!

I ordered a Fried Tofu Bahn Mi to go in the restaurant and it came out quickly. There was no online ordering at the time. I walked 10 minutes back to my hotel and it was still warm. It was a good size and stuffed with filling. The issue I had with the sandwich was the salt level. It was so salty, almost to the point that I didn’t want to finish it. Because I didn’t have anything else to eat, I finished the sandwich, but it was tough.

Best eatery in downtown. It’s a family owned business with clean ambience and fresh food. The employees are so nice and helpful as well. Whenever I’m in downtown I drag my friends to here because it is a must.

Glad to have checked out their new location! I’ve gone to their U.City location a few times in the past, which is now closed. Their menu brings many choices, quality, and deliciousness all around. Their new location is beautiful, airy, & spacious!!! It’s definitely worth driving the distance to. Will definitely go back to again and again. Thankful to have met the owners as well. 🙂

For this review, I am going to write about my three most recent experiences. The first being on Sunday, September 27, 2020. The second being on Sunday, June 13, 2021. The third being on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. Before getting into the review, I should note that I’ve previously visited this restaurant in December 2015 and January 2019 and had experiences similar to what I’m going to write about.

My first recent visit was on Sunday, September 27, 2020. I came a little after 1:00 p.m. and there were a few other customers dining in besides myself. For this visit, I ordered the shrimp & ham gỏi cuốn/gỏi cuốn tôm & chả lụa, combination bánh mì /bánh mì đặc biệt, and combination phở/phở đặc biệt. Everything about this visit, from the quality of the food, the friendliness of my waiter, Andrew, the quick wait times for everything (which was between five to ten minutesto the overall atmosphere of the restaurant, this visit was certainly “amazing.” Long story short, I was severely depressed that day because of something that happened to me the previous day and this visit really made my day, as it helped me feel a lot less depressed, and will be a memory I will always cherish for the rest of my life.

My second recent visit was on Sunday, June 13, 2021. I came a little after 1:00 p.m. and there were a few other customers dining in besides myself. For this visit, I ordered the shrimp gỏi cuốn/gỏi cuốn tôm and rare beef phở/phở tái. As with the previous visit, everything about this visit, from quality of the food, the friendliness of my waitress, Amber, to the quick wait times for everything (which was between five to ten minutes), made this visit “amazing.” What topped off this visit was when I told Amber about my September 2020 visit and she said something about me looking familiar and then remembering details from that visit after I told her about it. Amber remembering me and some of the details of my visit really meant a lot to me, especially considering how many people come to the restaurant and how many months it had been since that visit (even if business might be slower due to the pandemic).

My third recent visit was on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. I came a little before 7:30 p.m. and was the only customer dining in, besides some people ordering take out while I was eating. I ordered the shredded pork skin gỏi cuốn/gỏi cuốn bì heo and rare beef & tendon phở/phở tái gân. As with two previous visits, everything about this visit, from quality of the food, the friendliness of my waiter, Sunny, to the quick wait times for everything (which was between five to ten minutes), made this visit “amazing.” I just want to thank Sunny for his immense patience to take a picture for me since I kept asking him to retake pictures for me because I was looking “bad” in all the pictures from that day. During my meal, Sunny told me that they decided to close down a bit early that night since there were a few people who came in but left when certain dishes were not available. It honestly broke my heart, to say the least, when I heard this, especially since the restaurant staff at Dao Tien are such kind, warm, and down-to-earth people.

To sum up my three experiences, all of them were “amazing,” mostly due to the quality of the food, quality of the restaurant staff, and quick wait times for everything, which easily make this a part of my top-tier of restaurants, a.k.a. my favorite/go-to restaurants. Even if you Vietnamese food is not your thing, the quality of the restaurant staff and the wait times are phenomenal (or if you’re into puns, “PHOnomenal”).

Really good! I got the Honeydew Boba Smoothie (without boba) and the Stir Fry with Chicken and Soft Rice Noodles. Loved it! Cool atmosphere, too.

I would’ve loved to continue tasting their menu but I was only in town for work.

Totally recommended!
