Sunshine On a Cloudy Day
Great ambiance and service given while you are served real homemade treats, made fresh daily. Fast food originals that are brought to life with great newly added ingredients. You will not be disappointed with your choice off of this menu. While you wait for the main course, pick a mouth watering dessert to top off the meal. I highly recommend this place.

Thinking it was wednesday at noon Pam wanted to eat a bite at the Dan’s Sandwich Shop/Sandwiches Made Rite so off we went. She had the Chili Cheese Fries, I had the Chicken Tenders and an order of fries.

Stopped in off a long travel as it looked like a cute place. We weren’t greeted at the door, and sat on our own. This may not seem like a big deal, but if you never ate somewhere it could’ve been nice for someone to tell us to sit anywhere. We waited at the table for 5 to 10 minutes before some asked a server to help us. There is salad and coleslaw on the menu and they didn’t have any. Figured no problem, then I tried to order a tenderloin Sandwich from the menu and they didn’t have any either. Waitress didn’t seem friendly. The food was served super fast at least and prices were decent. Would not come back, sorry!

Check out the boards on the wall for their daily specials (LOTS of food for a reasonable price). Had fun eating at the counter and talking with the locals and the people who work here. The Maid Rites taste like the good ol’ fashion sandwiches…we will be back! Beware of the tempting pie displays!! Haha!

Michael the owner/manager is horrible you can hear him bad talking his employees and is extremely rude to customers. I will nvr eat here again I have no idea how he keeps staff with that horrible attitude. He needs to get popped in the mouth, or something to teach him to shut the heck up. He needs to take medication or do therapy.

A Newton, Iowa tradition for as long as I can remember! The sandwich is hard to explain (ground beef…sounds boring but it’s not )but it’s yummy! Stop by for a sandwich and crispy crinkle fries – it will make your mouth happy!

A childhood favorite of my husband’s, Dan’s Maid-Rite has become a long standing family favorite when visiting Newton. The kids always request to go and grandma and grandpa are more than eager to comply! On any given day, you will see generations of families passing through its doors and if you’re lucky, a greeting scribbled on the chalkboard from someone you’ve missed. I’ve been told the place hasn’t changed in decades and in the 16+ yrs I’ve been acquainted, this has held true. The quality, deliciousness, and value of the food is steady as the sun. Not unlike your favorite broken in jeans, Dan’s is worn around the edges in the very best of ways; comfortable, predictable, inviting, and just feels like home.
