Danny’s is a quiet place for a delicious lunch in New Bedford. A family run restaurant specializing in seafood. We always stop in when we are in town. The Kale soup is homemade and delicious. Paired with an order of Steamers it makes a great lunch.

WOW!!! What a find!! Cannot believe how good this food is. Ordered the clams and scallops combo. Wife had the clam boil. There was so much food weI could not finish it. The clams were cooked to perfection. The scallops were so tender and sweet. The prices are SO good it makes it a no brainer to go here for the BEST seafood around. It is a no frills authenic New England dining experience. Portions are plentiful!! Great drinks, great prices, awesome food and keno…what else do you need??

We picked Danny’s for the lobster roll. Fish and Chips and Fried Fish were absolutely perfect and the Lobster Roll goes without saying! You can’t visit New Bedford Mass without getting a lobster roll at Danny’s! Service was friendly….and fast. They opened additional dining room to accommodate the Friday night rush!

Don’t let the word “Seafood” in their name deceive you because this place is much more than seafood. A family owned and operated local gem that offers Portuguese favorites such as Mozambique and kale soup along with generous portions and flavor that make picking this spot worth a try. They do of course have seafood and whether fried, broiled, or baked it won’t disappoint. With daily specials, you can’t go wrong. Did I mention the also serve breakfast? This is usually served on the bar side in booths but service is fast and friendly on your wallet! Don’t be surprised if the cook brings you your food himself at times as everyone does their part here and treats customers like family. Lastly not only do they have a large dining room side but also a private section that can be rented out for events that they will cater for you. Highly recommend.

We have been eating at Danny’s Seafood weekly for quite awhile. It is usually very good, that is why we return. But, tonight I was very disappointed with my dinner. It actually looked like a school lunch kids plate. We ordered chower first, which was delicious
Then our dinner came. I ordered a small fish with boiled potatoes. My piece of fish was more on the miniature side (like a kids school lunch), the 1 potato was between a small and medium size potato, and the little plastic container of coleslaw was only 1/2 full. We were told they ran out of bread, which happens quite frequently. I don’t know who does the ordering, but being in business since 1971 I expect they would know approximately how many customers come in on a Friday night for Seafood…the bread situation put me over the edge. The tiny roll they usually give would have helped me not be so hungry when I left. I left there hungry. It cost us $45.00 with tip, and leave hungry. If anyone can recommend a good place for Seafood, please let me know. I appreciate it. I should have taken a picture, I apologize for not, I was distraught over my meal. I mentioned the bread a few times to a few servers, nobody cared.

Cool place to eat. I have been here a lot of times for breakfast and there’s always a table available and not too busy. Service is always great and food is good.

The seafood is not only their specialty, but most customers are local regulars, and even lots of out of town travelers, like myself, prefer to dine here, then in those newly decorated, overly priced, TRENDING “ breweries & taverns” that boast of boutique specialties & atmospheres. This is a comfortable, FRIENDLY, treat everyone like family environment, with simplicity and “ out of this world Family Recipes” that will keep you returning at least once a month for more! What else can I say?
