There wasn’t any price on the menu which scares us a little but thankfully the bill turned out alright.

We had pork ribs and brisket but every piece of meat we had was just dry… not a single piece of fatty meat

Though the sides were really good like the bread, coleslaw and fried okra.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday. Service was great and food was 10/10. Got myself a brisket sandwich and it was awesome. Definitely recommend.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Terrible, awful experience. I’m going out of my way to leave this review because I never do. Place had only one table of 4, we were a party of 6 and were left waiting for about 20 minutes. Not even a drink order. After about 25 minutes, one of the three waitresses that had been staring at us started to approach after we were obviously gathering our party. The server says “have you all been helped?” 3 adults and 3 kids in our party and they all saw we hadn’t been helped? Plain and simple this place is racist and prejudiced. We didn’t make a scene but instead chose to spend our money elsewhere. It’s 2026 CMON NOW. Grow up.

So I pulled up in Carlsbad, New Mexico on the job ,
Asked a friendly Local what place he thought is best to eat that is locally own. He told me Danny’s Place
I can’t lie I don’t regret it. Great customer service great food only three stars on the atmosphere but that’s just because there was one other customer when I went in and I didn’t stay, but I do have to say that the place look clean had a nice western theme to it. The food was great. The people were great. Definitely will go back if I ever come back out this way.

Nothing really stood out to me. The brisket was dry and didn’t have much taste. The ribs and fried okra tasted good, but there was too much fried stuff and not much healthy choices. The place itself was quite cute, with lots of cool decorations. The best was the 60’s oven.

EXACTLY what you’d expect from a barbecue place! From the traditional barbecue decor to the perfectly smoked meats, to the tasty desserts, you’re sure to enjoy every minute and every bite. The French fries are a very interesting cut, crispy on the outside, very tasty. The sweet potato fries are served with syrup, but you likely won’t need it. I had the 3 meat dinner and mom had the ribs. Everything was very enjoyable. Our server, Kristin, was very attentive and friendly.
Also, I don’t think it’s a leap to say that this place serves THE BEST sweet tea in all of Carlsbad.
Highly recommend!

Brisket quesadilla was good with the food being hot. Unfortunately, my wife’s brisket was not too warm. Service was OK, not a lot of attention, but that might be the norm because some people prefer to be bothered less during their meal.
I have 4 stars because the cost was low, otherwise probably 3 1/2.

I got in to Carlsbad kinda late one night and needed dinner. I wanted to get something kinda quick and to go, but didn’t want fast food.

We stopped at Danny’s thinking we’d get just that. Unfortunately we were disappointed. I had a smothered burrito that just wasn’t good. The flavors were blah, the beef was weird… I hardly ate any of it.

I don’t want to seem like a downer because I know other people enjoy it at Danny’s, I just didn’t.

They have done a great job of making the restaurant a nice cute place where you feel like you’re in grandma’s kitchen.

A great little spot, it has like a “mom & pops” feel to it. We ordered the food to go, we had to wait about 35 mins. The brisket is hands down the best they have along with the BBQ ribs. The bbq pork was sadly dry like most are. I also got the fish plate I don’t recommend it. It was very thin, just fried tilapia. The bbq sauce they have to pair with the food is delicious not to sweet. The mashed potatoes were thick, in a good way ( like a mom and pops restaurant. ) The coleslaw was okay. If you haven’t tried this place give it a try, alot of locals have probably been going here for years. The restaurant would have gotten 3 stars but I added 1 more for the brisket and bbq ribs.
